This Excel Spreadsheet just helps students to remember the items in the circular flow of income. The sheet is protected, but there is no password if you want to change the formulae. Ideal as a Starter or quick Plenary.

We used the Lego Mindstorms Robots for this, but you could use any Turtle or robot to compete in an Olympics. Simply put, we got students from neighbouring Primary Schools to come in and compete for the honour of winning the Robo Olympics. This project is designed to help students to think about the safe use of Social Networking sites in the guise of designing a leaflet for parents. Very useful, especially for year 9's who believe that they already know it all. Once made, sometimes the students create quality projects that are worth sharing with the parents. This project does NOT require any direct access to Social Networking sites, so is useful for schools who block Facebook etc.

You might be surprised by what colour combinations students respond to. I have a number of SEN students that find certain colour combinations far easier to read. Great SEN tool to help students find most comfortable colour combinations. This can also be used in ICT to help students think about design combinations for PowerPoint.

This little lesson was designed to encourage students to search using keywords and then reference information given. It also shows how keywords can be used to precis information. I hope it's useful.

As a follow up to an Elasticity class I got the students to make their own Elasticity problems. The resulting effort I thought was good enough to use for teaching and shows how much effort students can put into their work. This can either be used as a straight worksheet or an example for others to make their own scenarios. I hope this is useful.

This little presentation introduces Cartoon Story Maker. A great little application made by the Victorian State Government. Fun little tutorial to teach all the things pupils want to do in Scratch, move, baddies and directional lasers. The videos are silent and the link is to the finished game on the Scratch Website. However most importantly it gives students the basic code to do their own ideas...

These worksheets teach students about the ratings systems for games and how appropriate different games are for children. These worksheets would be useful as part of a Games Design project in ICT and in PSHE and citizenship in teaching children to be responsible about what games they play. Please view the films before showing students, because they may not be suitable for all children. At the time I was teaching a fairly challenging set of children in Middlesbrough and wanted to show them that just because somebody is disabled it does not mean that they are not people and don't have fun! This lesson shows students how to do effective slide builds for presentations. This is an important skill when presenting slide shows to slowly reveal information and keep the audience interested. This could also be used in English as part of their Speaking tasks.

This Word table introduces students to Open Source software and asks why schools are still prepared to pay for commercial software? It is useful for familiarising students and teachers to software types, what is available for free and what benefits a school gets from commercial software.

A spinner that enables you to assign plots at random. Also included is a print out version and a handout with plot summaries. Tech Savvy students will be able to play with the code and make their own spinners.

This was a lesson to encourage students to think about different disabilities, their prejudices and how people with disabilities still achieve amazing things. I hope its useful.

This is a complete Web Design module that can be used in Keystage 3 or as a refresher in Keystage 4. It uses the free software, Kompozer which is a WYSIWYG designer but enables you to see the code at a glance. In the module students design a Web Safety site, helping them to understand how to use the web safely. There are links to the software, the sample site and the planning lesson.
