An activity book for students to practice the skills they need to pass the exam. Looks at identifying all the techniques language and structure for paper 1, looks at writing PEACE paragraphs, comparing texts and creative writing activities. I made this after teaching this course for three years upon getting students feedback on what they struggled on. Hope it helps. revision lessons and activities can be found on: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-JQchhF9CJakm2Al271olw?view_as=subscriber

A lesson on growth mindset where students learn about the benefits of positive thinking and that most things can be achieved through hard work and dedication. Students also learn about a fixed mindset way of thinking which can be a barrier to success. Activities include Growth or fixed mindset quiz - to see if students are too ridgid in their thought process. Case study of two individuals facing adversity - students select which one is growth and which one is fixed and try to explain why this is. Speaking and listening activity - Students watch a video on growth mindset and fill in a worksheet to see what information they understood, the questions are red, amber and green for differentiation and for students to take on a challenge. Writing to advise activity - students look at a few scenarios of where people with a fixed mindset are asking for help. How to write a PEACE paragrapgh

A resource for anyone who is looking to increase the depth of their analysis for when answering language analysis questions. This technique is used to help students say more, moving away from a grade 4 and moving towards the higher levels. It’s been done with AQA GCSE English language in mind but I believe it has it’s benefits for all kinds of language analysis, regardless of specifications, I’ve included an accompanying worksheet and a copy of the PowerPoint with a sample answer.
