GCSE FRENCH: Futur proche speaking task cards

These 30 questions are just right for beginners who need to practice the FUTUR PROCHE, and they are a perfect no prep speaking activity for busy teachers. Each EST-CE QUE question uses the verb ALLER with infinitives. In order to avoid OUI and NON answers, each question also includes an interrogative word which is great practice in helping to remember what they mean and where they're placed in the sentence. Since all of the questions are asked in the TU form, all of the answers will be in the first person singular. This is so that students can really focus and get used to using these verbs when talking about themselves and when talking to a friend. Just cut out the 30 cards, punch holes in the spaces provided and attach the stack of cards with a key ring. It would be a great idea to print on card stock and laminate the cards before punching holes and attaching them. Super easy and no prep for years to come. Both black and white and color versions are included as well as a 2 page print out of the questions if you should decide to use them as a quiz or homework assignment. I am a firm believer that repetition is key in learning a language, and that's why I've created many different versions of these speaking cards. All of the cards ask the same basic questions, but each time in a different tense. My students really appreciate the familiarity of the cards even when learning a new tense.

ESL - SPRING Vocabulary Taboo Game

Play this ESL SPRING Vocabulary Taboo game and have some fun! Playing games and having fun is when learning really happens in ESL class. I love to play the game Taboo with my students. ESL taboo is a game that is easy to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. Your students will learn a lot of new and useful vocabulary while playing this fun speaking game. This ESL SPRING Vocabulary Taboo game includes: 40 different Taboo game cards to create a deck that you will print and cut out for as many teams as you need (black and white + color versions provided). I like to laminate them, punch holes and hook the cards together with a keyring. Talk about years to come of no prep activities! Game instructions for both beginner and advanced students. Object of the game: One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are those written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed, and the team with the most points wins.

GCSE FRENCH: 30 French Speaking Questions - À la maison

Want your French students to use their MAISON / HOUSE vocabulary? This NO PREP activity is a fun way to encourage your low intermediate to advanced students to speak more. This resource is also part of a money saving bundle that you are going to ♡: La Maison - Vocabulary Speaking Activities 4-PACK: https://www.tes.com/us/teacher-lessons/la-maison-vocabulary-speaking-activities-bundle-11576015 You can use it after learning specific vocabulary for the house or as a fun interactive activity on a day when you want to just focus on speaking and reviewing vocabulary in a different way. There are 30 questions in all. Most of the questions are in the EST-CE QUE form, and they are asked in the TU form. More than half of the questions begin with an interrogative word encouraging more than OUI and NON responses. Most questions are asked in the present tense, but some are in the passé composé. Topics used in these cards: * Different kinds of homes * Household chores * Rooms in a house * Furniture * Preferences All cards are visually stimulating and feature a circle to punch out in the upper left corner so that you can print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and hook the cards together with a keyring. Have a look at the thumbnail to see how cute they turn out. Using these cards this way makes it easy to pull them out year after year to use as NO PREP speaking activities.

GCSE FRENCH: J'ai... Qui a? CHEZ LE MÉDECIN - French vocabulary game

This is a really fun game to practice with your students who are learning vocabulary about CHEZ LE MÉDECIN, and it involves NO PREP once you've printed and cut out the cards. I've included both a beginner and intermediate version of the game as well as black and white and color versions. The beginner version has the words written out and the intermediate version only shows pictures. Have a look at the thumbnails to see what they look like. Each version includes 41 cards. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again. You may also be interested in these related resources: Chez le Médecin - French Taboo Speaking Game: https://www.tes.com/us/teacher-lessons/chez-le-m-decin-french-taboo-speaking-game-11585849 French Speaking Questions - Chez le Médecin - Doctor and Hospital Vocabulary: https://www.tes.com/us/teacher-lessons/french-speaking-questions-chez-le-m-decin-doctor-and-hospital-vocabulary-11585151 Here's how this game works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says "Je commence" starts the game. He says, for example, Je commence! J'ai une fraise. Qui a une orange? The person who has the card with an orange on it says, J'ai une orange. Qui a du bacon? And so the game goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, J'ai fini! Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. If the vocabulary is completely new you could start out with the beginner deck and as the words become more familiar you could move on to the intermediate level. It's really a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.

La maison - French 20 questions games - No prep printable speaking activities

(0)
La maison - French 20 questions games - No prep printable speaking activities The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions and in these 4 versions of the game, students will learn over 200 nouns that go way beyond what they learn from a textbook chapter theme about house and home. The words in the game include rooms in a house, different kinds of housing, parts of a house, common household and garden items and more. These games will work for any level as they are written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only versions! Included: 4 versions with vocabulary written in French and English 4 versions with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the version of the game that you want to use and do a whole class activity. Each version includes 52 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … tu es une personne? … tu es un animal? … tu es un minéral? … tu es un endroit? … tu es un aliment? … tu es une plante? … tu es un objet? The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it. This will have them beginning to think about the writing theme for the week and is their first pre-writing assignment. Kids love drawing, and the pictures they draw will later serve as inspiration! ✍Mardi: Mon livret de vocabulaire - Each student receives a booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used French words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them color it. ✍Mercredi: Vocabulaire - Students go back to their vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says “ Mots de vocabulaire utiles: J’utiliserai ces mots dans mon paragraphe.” ✍Jeudi: Mon brouillon - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The brouillon page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections. ✍Vendredi: Ma copie propre - The fifth and final step in this writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and question words that they can ask themselves while writing: qui - quoi - quand - où - pourquoi - comment ** Ways you can use this writing program:** ✎ Enhance your writing program by practicing a little every day. ✎ Use the prompts at writing centers Monday - Friday. ✎ Daily 5 rotations ✎ Homework ✎ Writing centers ✎ Fast finishers ✎ Tutoring sessions ✎ No prep sub materials ✎ Morning work ✎ Project on whiteboard for a whole class speaking activity

GCSE FRENCH: French Past Conditional Lesson and Exercises - Le Conditionnel Passé

(0)
This product includes a support guide to teaching and learning the French past conditional as well as a 5 part translation exercise with answers included. The translations are from English to French and they involve using the present and past conditional as well as other grammar points and verb tenses that students at this level should be comfortable with. In this lesson I pay special attention to how to say "would have been", "could have been" and "should have been" in French. We teachers know that learning the French past conditional isn't so difficult once you know how to form the passé composé, but our students often need lots of examples and exercises to help them see the light at the end of the tunnel.

GCSE FRENCH: Bataille Navale - Regular French -ER Verbs

Everyone loves a good game of BATTLESHIP, and the French classroom is a better place than any! You can use this classic game format to practice regular -ER verbs. This resource includes 40 regular verbs. 5 different versions of the game are included. Check out my collection of BATAILLE NAVALE games! This resource is also sold at a discounted price in my BATAILLE NAVALE BUNDLE: https://www.tes.com/us/teacher-lessons/french-bataille-navale-games-growing-bundle-11608221 Just print out one page of the version you want to use per student. Students place boats (which are squares on the game sheets that they will have darkened with a pencil) on the game board. Students play against each other to try to find and eventually sink their opponent’s boats. Subject pronouns are written in the vertical column and infinitives are written in the boxes at the top. To choose a square, the player must say the subject and correct verb form in the present tense. If you wanted to practice writing in the passé composé you could have your students do that. Another idea is to have students make simple sentences using the subject pronoun and verb of choice. All of the vocabulary they’ll need is written right on the game sheet and it is all in French. Each game sheet includes two battleship grids and a line separating the two. Students can fold the paper on the line if they want to. One of the grids is for a player to place his boats and the other is to mark and keep track of his opponent. This resource includes 5 versions of the game with both black and white and color copies.

GCSE FRENCH: Passé Composé with Être - French Verb Race Game

(1)
VERB RACE is a fun and very exciting way to practice passé composé with être conjugations. Your students are going to love this set of 75 French verbs to use in the fast moving VERB RACE GAME. This set includes 75 verbs that use être as helping verb in the passé composé (including reflexive verbs). Classic verb race involves dividing the class into teams and one person from each team goes up to the board to conjugate faster than everyone else. I've included full instructions, tips and rules with this resource. VERB RACE has always been a huge favorite in my classroom. In classic VERB RACE it is usually the teacher who moderates the game, but in the instructions I'll explain in detail how you can play a student led game so that even your weakest students can participate and learn a ton. I'm including a powerpoint version of the game WITHOUT ANSWERS and student response sheets should you want to project the game and play as a class or in small groups without moving out of desks and up to the board. Also with this resource you'll receive 75 task cards without responses (answer key included). You can use these cards in STATIONS, in a game of SCOOT or in classic BOARD GAMES. I recommend printing out the cards, laminating them if possible, cutting them out, punching holes in the space provided and hooking them together with a ring for years of NO PREP usage and verb conjugation review. Here's exactly what you get: 75 calling cards with answers - Black and white and color versions provided 75 numbered task cards without answers - Black and white and color versions provided Powerpoint version of 75 cards without answers How to play and other ways to use the cards Student response sheet Answer key
