I have taught all levels from kindergarten to adult continuing education. I love languages and am constantly working on improving and adding to them. I believe that if students have fun, they will learn faster and remember longer. I try to have students speak in the target language as much as possible during the limited time that they are in class.

Lugares (Places in Spanish) TPR Vocabulary Activities

Activity 1 involves stickers on the back and students guessing the word. Activity 2 involves the teacher having a “secret word” and students taking turns trying to guess the word. Activity 3 is a Slap game for these words (20 pictures). Activity 4 is a Pictures game where students X the picture on the game board when the teacher calls the word. Activity 5 is the Balloon game - words are written in the balloons; students mark the correct balloon when the word is called. Activity 6 is the Stand Up game. Includes a simple 1 slide power point introducing the vocabulary.

Set of 48 categories; print on cardstock. To play, read the category to the group (works best in groups of 3-5. Set timer to 30 seconds. Students work individually and write down as many words as possible that fit the category in the time allowed. Students in the group take turns reading their words. If anyone else in the group has that same word, then ALL players cross the word off. 1 point is earned for each unique word. Game encourages students to think of the less common vocabulary words associated with each category.
