This lesson is an investigation into the causes of deforestation. It is an activity where children are learning to read information and record it in their own words. This activity can be used in the classroom where the different causes are posted around the room and the children have to investigate. It can also be used as a distance learning tool. Based on David Attenborough’s ‘A Life on Our Planet’ I am creating a full English unit based on this programme on Netflix. Start off by showing your class the documentary. Before the documentary do a KWL grid to see what they know already. We also did a cover page in our books to start the unit. This is a 2 week module on writing an information text about an endangered animal.
