A spreadsheet to track English Reading and Writing skills.
9 Reading and 9 Writing skills are tracked for each pupil. Teachers grade pupils upon a 1-4 point scale, each skill can be assessed up to 10 times in an academic year.
The reading skills are: Read aloud with fluency, Comprehension, Language Terms, Structure Terms, Analysing Language, Analysing Structure, Relevant Quotations, Comparison, Response to Task
The Writing skills are: Vocabulary Choices, Spelling -Common words, Spelling -Complex words, Clarity, Structural devices, Punctuation between sentences, Punctuation within sentences, Varied Sentences, Handwriting
The spreadsheet will then generate a graded comment upon each skill for each pupil to go into a mail merge document which can be sent out to parents.
Data from SIMS can be entered upon teaching group, forename, surname, Target Level, OPT Level at end of Key Stage, Gender, PP (Pupil premium status), MA (More able status), SEN status, reading and writing scores and reading age upon entry.
The spreadsheet uses macros (Will only work with Microsoft Excel for Windows) that automatically sort with the click of one button pupil data to be sorted by cohort or by teaching group alphabetically, by target Levels, OPT Levels, Reading criteria, Writing criteria, reading age upon entry. This is useful if you or your staff are not very familiar with spreadsheet commands.
The Word document included allows a mail merge to be carried out from the spreadsheet data to produce cohort and group reports which pupils can self evaluate to identify their strongest and weakest skill areas, what is interfering with their progress and how they can make improvement in the future. These documents can be used to show progression over time, aid closing the gap meetings, show intervention strategies in performance management meetings.
Includes: a fully detailed instruction/help power point, the tracking spreadsheet, the mail merge word document
A copy of the helpfile showing what the resource will do can be found at https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/english-reading-and-writing-skills-tracker-and-reporting-to-parents-document-instruction-help-ppt-12075079
Interactive powerpoint and spreadsheet to demonstrate and calculate the following statistical functions required for A Level Biology:
Standard Error
Standard Deviation
Chi-Squared for ecological studies
Chi-Squared for phenotype ratios
Student’s t-test for unpaired data
Student’s t-test for paired data
Spearman’s Ranked Coefficient of Correlation
Where degrees of freedom and p=0.05 confidence levels are used they are automatically calculated from the inputted data and an indication is shown as to whether a null hypothesis for the data is to be accepted or rejected.
The power point goes step by step through each statistical test, describing how to use it, how to calculate each one and what the results mean.
The work sheet contains exam style questions and answers upon chi-squared which is covered with a step by step explanation at the end of the power point.

This is the Free Evaluation version of the Electronic Teacher Planner/Mark book spreadsheet. The Full paid for version available at: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/electronic-teacher-planner-mark-book-12357931
A full paid for TWO WEEK TIMETABLE version is available at:
https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/electronic-teacher-planner-mark-book-two-week-version-12358075
is a full teacher’s planner book enabling you to replace your paper based record book. It enables you to create a colour coded timetable (and will automatically generate a blank timetable with the appropriate number of period per day), a week by week lesson outline planning sheet, a register for each class that records attendance, performance and behavioural information upon each pupil, homework and test scores. The registers will rank the pupils according to assessment criteria, absences and upon test scores. The class analysis page will give detailed information upon the number of lates/tardiness, discipline issues, forgotten books, no homework, incomplete pieces of work and work graded excellent, good, satisfactory and poor. Schemes of work can be created and reports written upon individual students. Print outs of each class can be used at parent consultation evenings and as a record for SLT. Cover lesson instructions can also be created. I have used this spreadsheet in an ongoing developing form for the last 20 years and haven’t used a paper based planner in that time. The spreadsheet does require the use of macros and so they need to be enabled in excel, see the help page in the spreadsheet on how to do this.
Please note this spreadsheet will not run on Mac versions of Excel, it will only run on PC versions of , due to incompatibility issues between Microsoft Office on the 2 different platforms.
A power point presentation upon nerve cells, the formation of the resting potential, how an action potential is produced when an impulse is transmitted along a neurone. How the message is carried on to a 2nd neurone by the synapse. All processes are demonstrated using animations to show the movement of positive ions by active transport, the opening/closing of gates, the movement of vesicles and neurotransmitter molecules in the synapse.
Suitable for A Level Biology students.
A sample video of the ppt is available at https://youtu.be/SDckofymhC4
The version you purchase will not have the Biology Store watermark banner

Includes animations of the methods and explains how different factors affect the rate of movement. Differentiates between passive and active movements. See a demo video at https://youtu.be/m7lqbMB0SGA
Enter up to 22 phrases to automatically generate a hexagon sheet with the terms randomly arranged. Pupils can then cut out the phrases and then sort them into logical groups.
Will also allow you to enter 11 different terms and their definitions which are then automatically randomly assigned to the hexagons sheet which can be printed out so that pupils can then cut them out and match up the terms with their definitions.
Good for reinforcing vocabulary and the definitions of terms also to make links between terms.
Suitable for all subjects and ages
A series of powerpoints and a pdf document showing the steps involved in aerobic respiration.
The 1st powerpoint goes through each process step by step for aerobic respiration.
The 2nd powerpoint shows animated diagrams for each step showing the movement of molecules and how molecules change during each step, all with accompanying explanations.
The pdf shows step by step the reactions that occur during aerobic respiration, covering glycolysis, the link-reaction, the Kreb’s citric acid cycle and the electron transport chain.
Suitable for A Level Biology.
A power point that goes through the biochemistry of the light dependent and light independent reactions, which animates the movement of molecules, electrons and protons. Suitable for A Level Biology groups.
