Calculating Water of Crystallisation This is part of the fourth in my series of Chemistry Calculation workshops. All designed as ‘bite-sized’ powerpoint files. These focus on step by step guidance on how to do calculations but include an introduction to any Chemical idea and equations required to do calculations. The Amount of Substance Workshop is in four parts, the first part deals with the idea of ‘the mole’, focusing on why it is important in Chemistry. The second part looks at ; Balanced Equations, the third Calculating Moles and the fourth applying these skills to calculate reacting masses, limiting reagents, % yield, atom economy, titration results and water of crystallisation. The fourth workshop itself will be issued in four seperate parts a) Reacting Masses & Limiting Reagents b) % yield & Atom economy c) Calculation for acid-base titrations d) Water of Crystallisation. This workshop deals with calculation of titration results These workshops cover material in both GCSE and A level Chemistry.
