A PowerPoint to recap all of the Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar objectives for Year 1, in line with the English National Curriculum. Ideal to use for recapping topics already taught in Year 1, to introduce new SPaG topics or to recap learning at the beginning of Year 2. Each topic has information to read and then task(s) to complete on that topic. Topics include: capital letters and full stops in sentences, capital letters for people and places, prefixes, suffixes, question marks, exclamation marks, noun suffixes and the personal pronoun ‘I’. French lessons PowerPoint on greetings, questions and numbers.

(0)
An excellent resource for a teaching input of French which can cover 3 lessons: Greetings, questions about each other and numbers, including asking how old someone is. Can cover any age group where the basics of French conversation is being introduced, and can be used alongside class activities involving speaking to each other in French. The PowerPoint is editable once downloaded, so you can add your own French speech, change learning objectives and add activities if necessary.
Calligram Worksheets

Calligram Worksheets

(1)
Two differentiated worksheets for Calligrams, suggested for year 1 or year 2. The first worksheet sheet contains a table with a word in which the pupil then has to create a calligram in the other column. The second worksheet offers more support, with a cartoon picture and the word that it is describing, with a box for the pupil to create a calligram in, with use of colour if needed. A great worksheet for visualising verbs and adjectives, and could also be used as a spelling exercise. Also excellent as a starter to creative writing and cross-curricular with Art.

Questions and Commands Presentation and Worksheets

(0)
A PowerPoint presentation and 3 differentiated worksheets on questions and commands, ideal for a SPAG lesson or general English lesson in Year 2 or Year 3, or revision on questions and commands in any year group in KS2. Activities and questions are clear and engaging, and are useful for teaching children about when to use an exclamation mark or a question mark at the end of sentences. Some questions also ask to turn a command into a question, and vice versa. I recently used these worksheets for an observed lesson in a mixed ability Year 2 class in which children enjoyed completing and made very good progress, with the lesson being graded as ‘Outstanding’
