Ms Kate's English, Psychology and World History Materials

Dear fellow teachers around the world, I have produced a variety of materials for my English, psychology, sociology, and world history classes. Most of them are designed to promote critical thinking but still very entertaining as they either have some role-play features or interactive activities involved. Feel free to contact me if you have any inquiries :)

Psychology Activity: Reinforcement and Punishment Role Plays

(0)
This is an excellent activity for high school students to understand reinforcement and punishment towards role plays. This lesson package includes two case studies to be portrayed by the students and instructions on PowerPoint. Please do not hesitate to adjust the scenarios if you find them too sensitive. You can add some characters like lawyers or police to explain the situations instead of demonstrating some scenes or change the setting to the court if you’d like. Psychology: Case Studies of Personality Disorders Worksheet

(0)
This worksheet consists of two case studies of personality disorders, including the questions that help students review personality disorders, symptoms, and basic psychological theories such as classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and social learning. To answer the reflection question, the teacher might need to read or play the record of mock interviews between a psychologist and the two subjects (Mark and Billy), which is an excerpt from a practitioner’s guide (page twenty-eight to thirty-one) by following the link on top of the handout. This is a fun activity which received very good feedback from the students in my psychology class.

Psychology Activity: Scenarios for Role Plays about Sleep Disturbances

(0)
There are three common kinds of sleep disturbances associated with mental illnesses which are insomnia, night terrors, and nightmares. Students must join their role-play groups and review their characters. Then, prepare the 7 to 10-minute role-plays to teach their classmates about their assigned sleep disturbances. While each group is performing their role-plays, the audience must take notes about the following items: the definition of the sleep disturbance and its symptoms, possible causes in relation to psychological disorders, the suggested treatment.
