This is a preview of the Roald Dahl wordsearch pack up for sale on the Kids’ Printouts account.
This 30-word wordsearch was created to support a Grade 5 class who had read the wonderful story of Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl.
The wordsearch puzzle, like wordsearches in general, was a great task to include in their learning to help them recall information about the story, reinforce spellings, encourage discussion about events, and to prepare them for a comprehension activity.
Enjoy this wonderful Christmas themed wordsearch!

This listing contains a quality 3-activity sheet with a wordsearch, fill the blanks and 10 Independence Day-themed questions. Students / children will likely need to conduct some research for at least some of these questions!
Also included is the wordsearch on its own if you prefer it as well as the answer sheet for all activities.
This pack contains 14 pages of activities.
The first is a 2-page activity, for which the kids need to name, trace and then design (colouring, painting, glittering etc) each of the 11 featured dinosaurs (grey silhouettes). There is a table of names on page 2 which the kids can use to help them name the dinos. A file with the dinosaur silhouettes and their names is included.
The next 11 sheets are the individual dinosaurs enlarged on A4 files, with instructions suggesting that after naming and tracing the dinosaurs, they should get creative and colour and decorate, before writing 3 facts about the dinosaur. Surely these would make for a great wall display.
The last activity is a wonderful anagrams activity. The kids need to read the (often strange) set of words and then rearrange the letters to figure out the name of the dinosaur. ‘carpet riots’ anyone? (Answer file included)

This quiz can be used as a comprehension exercise where children watch the film “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” and then answer as many questions correctly as they can.
The adjusted / differentiated activity can be that the film is watched in two halves (or smaller chunks) to give children less to remember all at once and more of a chance to get all 18 questions correct!
This activity can also be an opportunity to practice spellings, learn something new (what exactly is a barnacle?) and most importantly, have fun! You can also encourage children to come up with their own questions to test others.
This is a suitable task for Grade 4 upwards (approximately 8+ years) and FYI the film has a PG rating. Answer sheet is included.
If not used for skills practice, just save it for a treat or a rainy day!
This resource is suitable for students learning about networks and their setup (Year 9+).
This pack includes the following:
My School Network tasks - 6 pages (15 tasks plus example questions for the IT engineer at the school) (PDF)
Above editable version
My School Network completed sample - 7 pages (PDF)
Above editable version
Networks terminology wordsearch (54 words)
The 15 tasks were created to support Year 10 Computer Science and ICT students in their learning about Networks. The tasks were completed as the students went on a tour, led by the school’s head IT technician / engineer, of the school’s network setup. The tasks can be used / adapted for younger / older students, or depending on their abilities. In our case, the sheets were printed and students completed them by hand using clipboards, but it would also work fine if the students edit the Word document on their devices.
The tasks cover the basics including ‘Find out why we have a school network’, ‘Draw what you think the school’s server looks like’, several questions about the school’s backup procedure, questions regarding internet speed, and some sample questions to ask the IT technician / engineer in a Q&A session.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the tour, including being wowed by numbers and figures and being allowed to be near the server room, and felt a lot more savvy after understanding what all these devices were in the corridors, walls and ceilings. This definitely made their learning come to life and gave them a clearer understanding of networks and their setup. They also got to know the IT support staff a lot better and expressed great thanks at the end of the tour.
It’d be a good idea to meet up with the technicians / engineers in advance to plan out the tour and even prepare them with some of the questions that will be asked.
