A grid with some really basic, must know questions to aid students’ revision. I have been using these with students and have had really good feedback from them and seen an increase in assessment scores. The way I use them is to give it to them and give them 10 mins to try as many questions as they can independently. They then get another 10-15 with their revision guide/talking to others. We self-assess then they get exam questions to apply their newly refreshed knowledge.
There are 2 versions - 1 for separate (triple) and 1 for combined.
AQA Biology 8461 (more suited to higher level)
A double sided synoptic question sheet - links multiple units of work together.
The exam questions are rarely about just one unit of work, so this is a “big picture” approach to revision. The big numbers in each box refer to the AQA unit
Questions included on:
heart structure and function
specialised cells - muscle cells
microscopy
organisation
cell cycle
meiosis and mitosis
stem cells and differentiation
blood
blood vessels
osmosis
kidney function and kidney problems
diabetes
genetically modified organisms

10 Sets of 22 cards, each with a keyword on. Also includes a spinner to make.
One set will cater for 2-8 students.
Students work in teams of 2. They spin the spinner and look at the unit it lands on (eg. Unit 1).
They have 30 seconds for partner A to describe the words to partner B.
If partner B guesses correctly, the team scores 2 points.
If partner A skips a question, the team scores -1 point.
You could set a 2 round limit or higher if time allows - the length of time the activity takes will also depend on how many teams you have per set of cards.
Based on the board game, Articulate.
Really simple worksheet with sentence starters for writing methods for the Required Practical. No frills on this one - simple and clean! Fully editable.
