This PowerPoint resource involves pupils finding the names of different types of noun - common, proper, abstract, collective and compound. It is a fun activity that will reinforce their understanding of nouns and could be used as a lesson starter or a fun way to revise. It is based on the popular game of 'Stop The Bus'.
Pupils can either take part in this activity as individuals or in teams. The PowerPoint will generate a letter. Individuals/teams have to think of one noun to go into each category beginning with the selected letter. The first team to finish shouts 'Nouns Named'.
1 point is scored if they have an appropriate noun in the category - 2 points if no other team has that word.
