These resources have been designed for Entry Level 3 students working towards Functional Skills English qualifications at Level 1 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds, AQA, Highfield Qualifications, NOCN, Open Awards). It contains an 85-slide Powerpoint lesson and a 29-page workbook on grammar.
These resources will help pupils to achieve the following learning outcomes:
compose gramatically correct sentences
use subject-verb agreement
use tenses consistently
use the definite and indefinite articles correctly
Workbook
The 29-page workbook workbook includes 10 information pages, 16 worksheets and 2 progress checks. The workbook is provided in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.
PowerPoint Lesson
The editable, 85-slide PowerPoint lesson clearly explains subject-verb agreement, tense consistency and when and how to use the articles correctly. It provides many opportunities for students to practise and develop these skills . It also contains a link to a video on grammar. The PowerPoint is ideal for introducing the punctuation component of the specification and for revision purposes.
