Two different simple noun sorting activities that can be used as an activity. The first is a simple noun sorting activity that requires children to sort eight labelled pictures of nouns into people, places or things. The second is a simple noun sorting activity that requires children to sort different nouns into whether they are common or proper. The common nouns are all examples of nouns they would expect to see in a classroom so that these can be put in context.

A set of between 4 and 5 lessons that focus on being able to write some diary extracts linked to a journey based on The Firework-Maker's Daughter. Included within the presentation are starters and the key components of the lessons, including picture activities that get children to think of vocabulary for before then writing that part of the extract. Also included are a draft and redraft sheet, draft writing models to use as part of an example model write with children as well as a peer-marking code and fact file for diary writing.

Included is a look at key features of a discussion text, examples of layout and examples of logical conjunctions and modal verbs that children can then use. Within the pack are peer-marking codes, a self-assessment grid and language sheet to help children with their written task. With the editing and redrafting process there is enough here to run a few lessons of independent writing.
