Relative Pronouns and Clauses Mini-Assessment Task
A mini-assessment activity that checks children's understanding of relative pronouns and relative clauses. This is useful to check what children have remembered/ learnt or as a little recap activity to then go through with children afterwards.
Subordinating Conjunctions Mini-Assessment Activity
A mini-assessment activity that checks children's understanding of subordinating conjunctions. This is useful to check what children have remembered/ learnt or as a little recap activity to then go through with children afterwards.
Editing Writing (KS2)
A lesson that focuses on being able to edit writing, looking at different word classes such as nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Everything is included for the lesson including the presentation and three differentiated worksheets. The presentation includes focussing on how different changes can change sentences and change the image in a readers head as well as focussing on how not every sentence needs to be edited or 'improved'.
Romeo and Juliet Guided Reading
A guided reading session based on the prologue for Romeo and Juliet. Useful for a whole class session where you can read through the text as a class before children complete the questions in pairs/ small groups before going through the answers at the end. Worked well with children in Year 5 as an introduction to Shakespeare and to look at the various meanings of the prologue.

Each presentation focuses on examples of these determiners. This then extends to showing different examples of them in use before getting children to think about their position in relation to the noun and identify determiners themselves in a sentence.

Activities start with children being able to identify the different clauses before moving on to including them and then writing their own sentences that include different clauses.
