An activity that gives children number facts for the 7x table within triangles with children then having to find all the facts they can from the given numbers. This can work well as a starter and helps children see the commutative whilst seeing the link of operations. Children can then be extended to think about how the = sign can move around and what fraction facts they can find.

A double lesson that focuses on being able to multiply decimal numbers. There are two lessons within, focussing on different aspects as well as an arithmetic starter and an 12x starter for the second lesson where issues from the first lesson can be addressed. Also included is a worksheet that has practise and challenge questions and answers included. In the second lesson, children can then spend time responding to any mistakes they made in the first lesson.

An arithmetic style lesson that focuses on being able to add and subtract fractions. The lesson begins with six starter questions involving the use of the 5x table before moving on to focussing on fractions. There are examples and practice questions for same denominator and denominators that are linked before a variation question where the denominators aren’t a common multiple. Slides include pink bubbles for support and green bubbles for challenge. This then leads on to the activity with answers provided and two challenge activities should they be required.

Six lessons that focus on number fluency involving multiplication and division. This includes lessons on general multiplication and division facts and how these can be used to solve other calculations as well as more general multiplication and division questions and how these can be used to solve other calculations including decimal calculations. These can be used across Key Stage Two. Lessons are done as doubles with a PowerPoint for each lesson with an arithmetic starter (written for Year 6 but easily adaptable). Each lesson has an activity included alongside apply it/ challenge task that include activities from White Rose and NRich. These may simply apply what has been learnt or look to do it in a different way.

Five lessons that form a week focusing on being able to work with number bonds and being able to partition numbers. The lesson sequence for the week is as follows: Lesson 1 and 2 - Bonds within and up to 10 Lesson 3 and 4 - Bonds within 20 Lesson 5 - Partitioning numbers Each lesson has a lesson PowerPoint with vocabulary, discussion, practice and then time for activities. There is an activity per lesson and challenge activities for each lesson to check children’s understanding. Lesson 1 and 2 and then lesson 3 and 4 act as double lessons with the majority of teaching being done in the first lesson before a chance for a recap and to address any misconceptions in the second lesson. The lessons work as either an introduction for the first time or as a recap/ introduction back into maths following the holidays.

A set of lesson plans aimed at designing a way through units of measurement and specific elements of shape. Each lesson can take up to 2 sessions so with 10 lessons there are up to 20 sessions of planning ideas here. Can be used to design PowerPoints that then run the lesson before creating worksheets that practise or take elements further. I have used White Rose materials to then help me with this but you may have resources, workbooks or sheets that you would rather use. The primary purpose of this resource is to give ideas of how to design lessons, not provide the lessons themselves.
