An arithmetic style lesson that focuses on using written multiplication by one digit, primarily with three and four digit numbers but also then through decimal numbers to show the link. Included are two example methods for children to work through and practice before deciding on the most efficient and applying this to the practice activity. Before this, there is a question to check depth of understanding. The answers are then included so children can self-check and move on to the challenge activities. Also included are pink and green bubbles to scaffold and challenge as well as the methods so they can be cut out and stuck in to refer back to.
