Two weeks of fully planned and resourced English planning linked to the book ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. This includes both reading and writing planning so children can become immersed in the book to support their understanding in both areas. The writing planning includes: A fully resourced two week unit on diary writing, linked to the book The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. Included are two weeks worth of lesson PowerPoints, activities and sheets as well as support sheets where required and model extracts that can be used. Answer sheets are also included for any tasks that require them. The ten lesson sequence follows the order as below: Lesson 1 - Features of a diary Lesson 2 and 3 - Past tense Lesson 4 - Writing a diary extract Lesson 5 - Commas in a list Lesson 6 - Writing a diary extract Lesson 7 - Time adverbials Lesson 8, 9 and 10 - Writing diary extracts Each grammar focus lesson ties in to the lesson that follows where the skill will then be applied as part of the diary extract written that day.
