A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Plants. This lesson is the fifth lesson of a sequence, looking at seed dispersal as well as germination. The lesson presentation includes a recap from a previous lesson (can easily be omitted if you want this lesson as a one off) before then looking at different examples of seed dispersal. This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to apply what has been discussed. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included. There is also a copy of the recap task included.

The first worksheet is: A worksheet that provides a variety of questions linked to being able to intepret information presented as pictograms. Included as part of the worksheet are 4 different questions that provide variation to check understanding through the use of different values for different images and whether pupils are able to intepret these accurately in different questions. Answers are also included for all questions. This worksheet can easily be used as a worksheet when teaching the objective or used for recap/ revision or even to be sent home as homework. Three differentiated resources used with Year 5 children to work on antonyms and synonyms. The first activity requires children to find five antonyms and five synonyms for each word listed. The second activity begins with a similar activity to the first activity, before moving on to a passage where children have to replace the underlined words with synonyms. The third activity starts with an activity where children have to replace the underlined words with synonyms before moving on to a passage where they have to pick out words they can replace with synonyms.

Fully planned, differentiated and resourced unit of work looking at instructions. Included are all the slides, planning and resources needed to run each lesson, with 8-10 lessons that focus on key features of instructions and work on different skills before completing their own independent writing. Written for Year 5 but easily adaptable between Year 3 and Year 7. Independent writing is linked to George's Marvellous Medicines with children creating 'different' types of medicine with a list of possible ingredients also included and an example of how it could be written. Skills include: Using linking adverbs (time adverbials) and using imperative verbs as well as creating a poppy for remembrance day.
