Hello! I believe in making life easier for teachers, which is why I make my resources available on TES for free, or at a low cost. Most of my resources are full schemes of work, so when you make a purchase you're investing in entire units, not just one-off work sheets. Feedback is welcome! As I evolve in my teaching career, I hope to update my resources as well, so keep checking in. :)

A full scheme of work for teaching of Macbeth at KS3. Lessons are aimed at levels 4, 5 and 6 reading skills. The final assessment was on how Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan using a scene from the play.

KS3 - KS4 Poetry Transition Unit (Love)

(16)
The following resources were created as part of a transition unit at the end of KS3. It is meant to revise skills for reading, annotating and analyzing poetry in preparation for the new WJEC English spec. Skills studied in this unit are meant to aid in critical analysis and essay writing. There is also a Speaking and Listening task, which should be assessed using GCSE specifications.
Shakespeare/Conflict Poetry Link CA Lessons

Shakespeare/Conflict Poetry Link CA Lessons

I've made the following resources to help support Year 10 WJEC English coursework, in which students write a controlled assessment analysing a theme within a Shakespearean play as well as across at least three different poems. I've focused on Macbeth and conflict this year, so thought I'd share some of the lessons I plan to use.

A Taste of Honey Exam Prep

I've created three mock Literature Exam style papers for practicing exam skills with my top set year 11 group. Having no past papers to go from thus far, they're just my attempt to give the students a 'realistic' feel for the types of questions they may experience. Feel free to adapt and change.

BTEC Creative Digital Media P&P Briefs

These are the assignment briefs that are meant to be used with resources found under 'BTEC Creative Digital Media: Planning and Pitching' Someone has noted that the assignment numbers don't match the Unit number within the specification; this is a valid criticism. However, I chose to call the unit 'Unit 3' as it was the third topic I covered with my group; I felt that it would be less confusing for them this way. You can easily change the assignment numbers and Unit information to suit your own purposes.
Year 7 Journey Through Time Sci-Fi literature SOW

Year 7 Journey Through Time Sci-Fi literature SOW

(13)
I can not claim credit for the SOW itself, but the PPTs have all been created by myself to fit into the SOW found here. Videos are obviously not included (Back to the Future 2, The Time Machine, The Sound of Thunder, and an episode of the Simpsons are needed for the unit). Focus of the unit is to introduce students to the genre of sci-fi (specifically time travel). Formal assessment is on how and why Wells desribes the living conditions of the Eloi in The Time Machine (historical context links)

Found Poetry Activity

I initially created this to fill a cover lesson, during an absense. It’s a fun activity to do with KS3 students, to get them to warm up to the idea of producing poetry, without the pressure of writing it entirely on their own. It requires old newspapers, scissors, and glue. Details are all contained in the PPT, which acts as a lesson plan.

KS3 Non-Fiction Media Olympics SOW (Part 2)

(1)
More lessons and resources for a non-fiction SOW looking at the Olympic games. Please see Part 1 and 3 of same name for rest of SOW. I cannot claim ownership of all the resources, but I did create the PPTs myself, based on other stimulus. Apologies for any spelling/grammar errors - I don't catch them sometimes!

The focus of the unit is representation within the fast food industry. These resources are only the first half of the unit. Please visit my website to download the rest.

Year 7 Ghost of Thomas Kempe SOW

The following are all of the lessons that I created for a SOW centered around a whole class reading of The Ghost of Thomas Kempe. Focus is on getting students used to writing PEEL paragraphs. . End result is a reading assessment looking at how tension and suspense are built in the prologue.

Y7 Creative Writing Part 2 (Poetry)

Y7 Creative Writing Part 2 (Poetry)

(5)
This is the second half of the unit I'm currently doing with my year 7 groups. The first half required them to work on their writing skills. My intention here is to introduce them to various forms of poetry by showing a few examples and then having them create their own poems. Can be adapted and changed as needed.
