Current in series and parallel circuits

(0)
This worksheet assesses understanding of current in series and parallel circuits. It is suitable for GCSE combined science and physics, as well as higher ability KS3. Current is the flow of electrical charge. The current in a series circuit is the same everywhere, as there is only one path for the electrical charge to travel on. The current in a parallel circuit splits into different branches then combines again before it goes back into the supply. When the current splits, the current in each branch after the split adds up to the same as the current just before the split. This resource includes a worksheet and answers with explanations and is suitable for use by non-specialists. It is ideal for a cover lesson.
