It's that time of the year when I prepare a 6 month test for the children I teach. (They are 10 & 11 years old) As we have been looking at irregular and regular verbs in the present tense, this is a piece of comprehension I will be giving them together with the question sheet. Maybe it will be of use to others of you, who may be covering similar work. Please do take the time to comment. Your feedback shows that my resources are appreciated.

Le Petit Déjeuner - matching pairs game

A fun way to practise breakfast vocabulary in French, or in fact any other language Children have to turn two cards over and name the item of food or drink on the card. To win a matching pair they have to name what is on the card correctly. This activity could be extended to using du/de la/ des when either using the expressions 'Je voudrais ... or Je mange ...&'or using le/la/les when expressing opinions about food. If you use this resources please take a moment to comment. It only takes a second to say thanks and it means so much to me.

An activity where the children have to design a healthy meal and an unhealthy meal in French. I thought this made a pleasant change from making lists of words. Students have to label in French those foods which they have drawn together with the names of the 'place setting&' items. Could be used as a test. Please spare a moment to comment. Your feedback means such a lot and is very much appreciated.

I am always looking for ideas to consolidate topics which my students have learnt. This simple activity recaps and revises: name/age/nationality/hair/colour/clothes/opinions/propositions/verbs. Children are given the picture and have to find as many sentences as poss. which describe something in the picture. I have included a sample of sentences to give an idea. Possibilities are endless. Children have to see how many of those sentences they can find. Stickers for those who find different ones and to the person who finds the most. Ideal for pair work. Feedback is always valued.

Also suitable for using with children in early years. I am using this with 3/4 year old in French and they love it. If you find this resource helpful, please take the time to comment. Your feedback is much appreciated.

KS3 French - Rhyming Rap

A catchy rhyming rap., which revises known phrases and perhaps introduces new vocabulary. I have included the sound file from which to hear the beat and rhythm. Click on the sound file entitled - 'Une et une&'. It is the third one on the list. I have slightly changed some of the words, so as to put my own stamp on it. Kids should enjoy chanting the lyrics. You will find two copies. One in colour for the teachers and a blank one for the children to draw their own images. Please take a moment to comment. Your feedback is really appreciated.

A gap fill-in activity using a variety of verbs to describe what you do during the school week. Questions asking at what time to do you each of the activities. I have use red ink to intoduce the 'you&' form of the verb. Where the word remains the same as in the first person I have underlined it. Green words are for new vocabulary used for the children that I teach. These can easily be changed back to black if need be. Hope you find this useful. Any feedback is most welcome.

The idea is that when they open a window they have to name the revealed image. I have included pics in black and white for those of you who are not able to print in colour. Feedback is always valued and appreciated. Have a great Christmas everyone. 'Joyeux Noël et bonne année à tous&'.

A book to make about 40 spiders in the haunted castle of Monsieur Patatras. Simple dialogue. Ideal for reinforcing: il y a, rooms in a house together with prepositions and of course counting to 40. Story ends with a question which will promote lots of opportunity for conversation. I have included intructions of how to make the mini book. You will need to make 2 books to accomodate all the pages. I used black paper to make my books. I'm sure the students will love this story for Halloween.
