Hi! I have uploaded my spelling resources that I use for my Year 2 class. It's a really fun way for the kids to go over and rehearse spellings and handwriting. All of the 'common exception words' from the National Curriculum are listed in the same style of handwriting with 4 words per page. Children are to write over each letter in a different coloured pen to practice letter formation and spellings. ENJOY! Please leave feedback too! :) x

I used these as challenge cards for my class when they have finished their work in English. I've laminated and double sided them. These are my 'cool challenges', I also have slightly trickier 'hot challenges' available in my other resource section.

Year 2 Polar Express themed English lessons on PowerPOint.

I have created these challenge cards to give to children who have finished early during an English lesson. I have laminated them, back to back, and allow them to write these on whiteboards or in their 'writing journals'. The children really like them and they seem to be engaged. I intend to add more to my current selection. I have two sets of these. One I call 'hot challenges' (these cards) and the other I call 'cool challenges' (in other resources). I put this up in my classroom, and with 4 different 'boring' words underneath it. Children come up and stick post it notes around the 'boring' word and think of more 'exciting' words to use - which we call 'super synonyms'. Great way to get children excited and engaged in English lessons. I use this in Year 2/ KS1 but no reason it couldn't be used for other age groups. Please review if you like my resources! :) Enjoy!
