This unit covers:
• Be able to describe the benefits of friendship
• Be able to describe ‘typical’ relationship progression
• Understand why people choose to marry and why some marriages fail
• Consider different levels of intimacy and their consequences
• Learn about the law in relation to consent
• Describe methods of contraception and understand the advantages and disadvantages of these methods

A workbook to support ‘Odd One Out’, the documentary about Jesy Nelson’s experience with cyberbullies and trolls. The documentary is available on iPlayer (60 mins)
We stop for discussion at various times and pupils are given time to complete the notes sections.
A 24 page workbook which begins with different forms of ACTION taken by campaign groups to force change (direct, indirect and illegal) Then work on the action taken by a number of groups: The Suffragettes, The IRA, THE EDL and ISIL/ISIS. The texts can be read alongside youtube clips or pupils can simply answer the comprehension questions. Pupils assess how 'EXTREME' these actions are after working on the definition of EXTREMISM.
It moves through to TERRORISM and how terrorist organisation recruit young people, how people become RADICALISED and what you should do if you suspect someone is being radicalised.
Small, individual tasks are included (mix and match tasks, colour-coded tasks, definition tasks and other puzzles.
This definitely needs teacher input and I have tried to keep it as factual as possible but in as simple a form as possible.

A number of activities for KS4 pupils to investigate/discuss myths and facts about consent.

2. Using Facebook and Twitter formats to summarise the law in relation to consent
3. Distinguishing Fact from Myth (20 short statements)
4. Matching the myth with the fact (10 myths and the corresponding fact)
My Year 11 classes produced a display for the classroom based on what they understood from these worksheets
A workbook for pupils to complete with learning objectives, opportunities for self and peer assessment and a final 'choice' of task. Approximately 20 pages of activities including opportunities for peer and self assessment. Also includes a choice of end assessment.
This unit will cover:

The booklet allows people to:

• Investigate homophobia (Stonewall resources)
• Understand the importance of TOLERANCE & ACCEPTANCE

Pupils are asked to make two piles after cutting out the ingredients.
Allow them time to 'debate' whether the ingredients are IN cigarettes or NOT IN cigarettes.
Take feedback from group before announcing that they are ALL in cigarettes!
Pupils are asked to consider natural changes to their bodies. They must discuss/decide which changes affect male/female/both. A good starter to open discussion about changing bodies.
A worksheet which allows pupils to 'mix' and ask each other questions. Ideal for transition from Primary to Secondary. Could be extended by asking pupils to say something about someone the have just met.
Pupils must match the salary to the job. This can lead to group discussion about wages/salaries in general and to an investigation where pupils research the salaries of the professions that they would like to enter.
A worksheet which enables pupils to think about the benefits of friendship, their responsibilities as a friend as well as factors that help relationships thrive. Colour coding task followed by written task.
A worksheet to use as a cover lesson or as an introduction to Careers Education. Focus is on skills, knowledge and experience and an ability to distinguish between the three.
