Introduction to Waves Activity
This resource is perfect for the “Engage” portion of a 5E lesson. It includes several different activities to introduce students to the types and properties of waves. After brainstorming a list of waves, students will group them into categories. They will gain additional information by watching short videos and use this information to develop a definition for “wave”. The brainstorming activity activates prior knowledge while the categorize and analysis activities encourage students to think critically about the information they are learning.
