A simple card sort of 16 choices (half and half) illustrated in colour, which I used with a lowest-ability Year 8 group.
It's all based on human characteristics, for example 'hair colour', 'height', 'having a tattoo'.
Some of the characteristics can be both inherited and environmental if you want to go a bit deeper.
My pupils really enjoyed it, and it started some interesting discussions about where some characteristics come from.
Fact file scaffold covering the main specification points that students need to learn about the constellation of Orion, including its shape, the main stars, how Orion can be used to locate other stars.
The Pearson GCSE Astronomy course includes a lot of content learning. These fact files make the process more engaging and fun for students, allowing them to create a resource to be proud of.
The finished sheets also make great classroom displays.
