This resource can either act as a game or an assessment activity following the unit of work on French speciality dishes. Included: - Image cards of all the speciality foods. - Vocabulary cards of all the speciality foods. - Three pieces of information about the speciality foods (taken from the most basic of the fact sheets so hopefully suitable for the entire class) each on its own card to be matched with the image and / or vocabulary cards mentioned above. - Answer sheet.

Blank poster sheets for each of the 4 starters, 5 main courses and 4 desserts in this unit of work. This is designed to support weaker pupils are more able ones will probably want to take control of their own poster on their chosen French speciality dish. The title is given in French and English to colour, there is space for the food to be drawn (or for the pupil to find a photo online, print it out and stick it on) and lines where facts from the fact sheets can be written about the chosen dish.

A lesson plan and information sheets on French speciality dishes. The information sheets cover 4 starters, 5 main courses and 4 desserts. All sheets come in three levels: Paragraphs, information in bullet points, bullet points with simpler information and larger font to allow for differentiation. It would be good to laminate these to keep the colours vivid in the images and to give them a longer lifespan.

This resource includes two PowerPoints (one normal, one dyslexia friendly). They introduce pupils to a number of French specialities: 4 starters, 5 main courses, 4 desserts and 4 drinks. Audio is included for non-language specialists, if needed. Note: For the Orangina slide there is no image but links to two Orangina funny adverts on YouTube. These clips will only work if connected to the internet and if your school allows access to YouTube. * The font used in the dyslexia-friendly PowerPoint is a free font called SF Cartoonist Hand and might be more better for some dyslexic students. If it is not already on your computer it can be downloaded from the internet. This is not the font that appears in the preview.
