The Tiger who came to tea planning and templates

A week of Literacy planning for Year 1 . The children need to write Sophies Mummy a new shopping list they then receive a letter from the Zookeeper concerned about his poorly tiger, the children are asked to design a menu of healthier foods for him. Next they get a letter from the tiger thanking them for their help and inviting them to a tea party ( I held one in class with biscuits and juice and the TA wore a tiger mask,) this prompts them to write about their own party experiences. The week finishes with the children writing thank you notes and finally a recount of their tiger tea party. All differentiated writing templates and letters (from tiger and zookeeper) included (13 in total)

1 weeks worth of English planning based upon a witch visiting our classroom during Halloween week, I set up a crime scene with a witches hat/broken broom stick , slime etc this created the basis for our writing the rest of the week. We read Room on the Broom to develop ideas further and so that the children could see witches can be nice/friendly.

Advent- Acts of Kindness Activity

Lovely activity in the lead up to Christmas. Each child has a Reindeer/Santa. Starting at the bottom of the scroll or beard, each day they try to follow the act of kindness such as smile at a friend, when done they cut it off until the whole scroll has gone! This includes a Rudolph version and Santa's Beard version both in colour and black and white. Both are also fully editable so you can write your own acts of kindness on.

Halloween is on the way and what better way to motivate those little writers than a haunted house! My class love this activity and have produced some fabulous work in the past! Simply choose which writing activity sheet - A senses poem or a description of a haunted house- then give the children the house pieces to colour in and stick either end of their writing, it makes a fantastic display! Includes both editable writing templates as pictured Colour version of haunted house Black and white version of haunted house

These are how I mark childrens writing and Maths, they stick in a bookmark each lesson and all I need to do is tick off the things they have achieved and circle something they need to work on next lesson. The children know what the pictures mean so instantly understand the feedback its then easy to see progress from lesson to lesson. Fully editable.
