'The Jinx the life and deaths of Robert Durst A detailed and comprehensive SOW focusing on: context, genre and media language for A Level Eduqas Media Studies component 2 section A. All elements of the theoretical framework are covered and homework tasks are planned. This scheme also makes use of the feature film All Good Things and SAMS material.

Grade boundaries for: overall qualification (taken from Eduqas), individual units, individual questions. This can be used to provide students with a ‘grade’ for every piece of work they complete whether that be an exam style question or Mock exam. This is based on the A* - E boundaries from Summer 2019.

A range of lessons for Eduqas GCSE Media Studies on MUSIC VIDEOS for Paper 2 Section B covering Michael Jackson 'Black or White. Lessons explore: media language, representations, intertextuality and contexts. Media theory is also explored in some lessons. Also inluded are opportunities for students to plan and answer exam questions in full.

Two lessons which look at approaching unseen analysis and guides students through the ‘media language’ question for Eduqas GCSE Media Component 1 Section A. The lessons are similar so could be used as a taught practice and then assessment. This exam question, which is similar to the SAMS question (so this mark scheme can be used), analyses the film posters for Corline and Corpse Bride, but any print based media product could be used.

Three lessons (taught as a 2 hour double and then single lesson) on the representations in the WaterAid ‘Claudia Sings’ advert for Component 1 Section A of the Eduqas A Level Media exam. Lessons cover: all representations and reps theories including a lesson which breaks down and analysis bll hooks theory in relation to WaterAid.

A new and improved scheme of lessons on Pride and GQ for Eduqas GCSE media. Lessons cover: media language, contexts, representations, media theory. This also includes lessons on more challenging theory such as bell hooks (taken from the A Level spec) and an unseen comparison with an example essay from a student!

This is a small scheme off work for first year A Level media students. This is a 4/5 lesson introduction to textual analysis skills and some A Level theory from the theoretical framework (Barthes and Strauss). Can be adapted to use any print based media product and can be used to help develop skills of textual analysis.

This covers most of the specification and includes around 20 tasks on things such as: research, annotation and analysis, application of theories (previously taught), exam style questions. I created this for a class who have not done any work on magazines so far is is ‘new content’ for them, this could however also be suitable for students with some previous learning on magazines.

EDUQAS A LEVEL MEDIA STUDIES A range of lessons on music videos focusing on Vance Joy’s Riptide for A Level Eduqas Media Studies component 1 section A. The lessons are hour long lessons and cover: genre, narrative, media language, representations and relevant theory as well as practice exam questions (SAMS mark schemes can be adapted and used here). This also makes use of the Eduqas A Level Media text book and focuses on the wider music industry and wider products.

Approx. 1-2 lessons designed to help GCSE or A Level media students understand British politics. This lesson defines what a Political Party is and explores the ideologies of the three main political parties in the UK. This is relevant to the study of newspapers for Eduqas GCSE and A Level Media studies so focuses on ideologies. The final task asks students to create in Instagram page for each of the main political parties which demonstrates the ideology of each party. This lesson is intended to be followed by analysis of the ‘set’ newspapers and analysis of how political ideologies impact these newspapers.

AN UPDATED SOW on Formation for Component 1 Section A Eduqas A Level Media Studies. This is a more refined scheme with detailed and comprehensive lessons which are intended to be taught over a number of weeks. All elements of the theoretical framework are covered: media language, genre, representations, technical codes, theory, contexts.

A HOME LEARNING project on Spectre media audience and industry for students taking GCSE Media in 2021 - created for the Codiv-19 school closure. This covers most of the Section B specification and includes tasks like: research, analysis, application of theories (previously taught), exam style questions etc. I created this for a class who have done some work on Spectre and James Bond so far, but some of this s ‘new content’ for them; this could however, also be suitable for students with lots of previous learning on Spectre and Section B.

A lesson which introduces some basic camera angles and explores camera movements, analyses the camera angles used in print based media and a film trailer and a practical task which encourages students to take some still images using a range of different angles. This lesson is a great introduction to the skills required for the NEA.

A lesson or two for Eduqas A Level Media (component 1) which explores the use of media language on the advert for Tide and applies relevenat theories: Barthes, Strauss, Bandura.

A complete lesson focusing on how to successfully answer Q2a on Paper one of EDUQAS GCSE MEDIA. This lesson mainly focuses on Quality Street and explores relevant historical context, but also includes an example answer (from a student) based on This Girl Can. The lesson can be easily adapted to focus on any of the set products for Paper 1 Section A.
