PSHE Smoking

(0)
Resources based on Jigsaw PSHE curriculum: Healthy Me unit (Piece 1) . Resources could be adapted for other PSHE lessons surrounding smoking. I used these resources for a lesson with a year 5 class. The lesson could be begin by discussions surrounding things we value about our body. Resource 1 is a mind map that the children could use to collect their ideas including a couple of examples to get them started. Resource 2 is a table that can be used for a research activity. There are two subheadings with parts of the body and how smoking affects that part of the body. The research activity could lead into discussions and closing thoughts on the lesson about whether the children would smoke in the future after finding out the affects of smoking. There is also a short description attached of an example lesson that could be used in a PSHE floor book if this is something that your school / educational setting uses.

PSHE Jobs & Salaries

(0)
Resources based on Jigsaw PSHE curriculum: Dreams & Goals unit (Piece 2) . Resources could be adapted for other PSHE lessons surrounding Jobs, Careers and Salaries. I used these resources for a lesson with a year 5 class. The lesson could be begin by using the Jigsaw resources (the different job cards or you could find different pictures of jobs if you use a different scheme of work to Jigsaw) and then playing Job Charades in small groups. Each person in the group could take it in turns to answer YES or NO to questions to see if the other people in the group can guess the job correctly. Resource 1 is word document that contains 3 reflection questions and 3 job salary questions that could be used at different times during the lesson. I used the reflection questions at the end of the lesson to promote discussion and allow the children to think about the jobs and careers that we had spoken about during the lesson. I used the 3 job salary questions to promote discussion about whether we thought job salaries we fare or not. There is also a short description attached of an example lesson that could be used in a PSHE floor book if this is something that your school / educational setting uses.

This resource contains: A word document with 2 pages. This is the plastic pollution planning template. One page has headings for the children to use to guide their research. I have also added another table with headings that can be added by the children (High ability children or older year groups who can have more independence when thinking of their headings for their Non-chronological report. A 2 page PDF file that can be used when the children come to write their non-chronological report. I have aimed this resource at my year 2 English class but you may wish to use for other year groups as appropriate. On the 2 page PDF, there is space for a title, subheadings, and pictures as well as smaller boxes for did you know? facts. I designed the PDF on an A3 template so should be ready to go as A3 when printed.

Number Bonds to 10 Jigsaw Pair Activity

(0)
I have created a resource that is great for children who are learning their number bonds to 10 as well as looking at odd and even numbers. Simply cut out the jigsaw pieces and the children can pair up the jigsaw pieces to make number bonds to 10. I have also included counters on each jigsaw piece to encourage counting and discussions around odd and even numbers. (“What makes a number even?” “How do you know?”)
