This is an overview PowerPoint that you can use to show students what is expected of them out of the new GCSE course for 2016. The opening slide allows you to choose your Exam Board and then takes you through to an overview slide regarding coursework and weighting of marks, a breakdown of the areas of study, and finally a summary of the assessment criteria. This is an ideal resource to show students what is expected throughout the course. Reading and Writing Music: The Basics. Starter and Homework 2 of 12. This provides and work sheet and answer sheet as a starter activity on the keyboard and recognising notes. This starter is designed to be followed up with the homework sheet which focuses on the treble clef also provided with this resource. A nice idea is for them to then play the music they have notated on the keyboards in the following lesson as a quick starter/recap. There is also a PowerPoint for interactive keyboard note naming for students. This is particular good for students with little "traditional" music knowledge. Traditional African Music scheme of work with written tasks, composition tasks, percussion tasks and vocal tasks. This SoW includes an overview, 6 x lesson plans, resources for each lesson, including PowerPoints and video uploads. It also includes a work book intended for cover lesson, inclusion lessons and absentees with 6 tasks to complete following the scheme.

A chart to monitor behaviours and achievements in class. Place a star in each box as students achieve each goal throughout a set of lessons. This can be left up in the classroom throughout a scheme of work or projected onto the wall during lessons. I found this very useful with younger groups in KS3.
