This was one of the questions on the 2024 AQA paper. I set it for my students this week in class and while they were writing I wrote this model one to share with them as an example of the sort of thing I am looking for.
When I return their marked essays I attach a copy of my own essay in the hope that they can upscale their work.
Describing a seaside town, saying what you can do there, why you like it

For my last lesson in y7 we will use this revision clock, printed to A3, to recap everything they learnt so far this year
You can change the writing to be your topics, of course
A day out a the beach using a Sentence Builder to describe a seaside town, what there is in a town and say why we like it, what you can do there
We re-wrote our SoW to be more relevant to our local context and we love Skegness, our nearest seaside town
You could of course change the name of the town to your closest resort, I hope it’s as fun as Skeg

I think the 2023 Higher paper will have a question about Customs and Festivals in the 150 words section, based on looking at which topics they have asked in recent years.
Students see what an answer might look like then use my examples to write their own version

Student use the writing frame to write a letter to their favourite teacher.
We have completed the topic of school subjects, saying why you like them etc. This is an end of topic activity.
Students write a letter in their book to their favourite teacher (they cannot pick me!). I check it. Then they write it SUPER neatly onto writing paper - I buy some cute paper and envelopes for this but you could just use coloured paper, ask them to illustrate it or whatever. The point is it is hand written and neat and nicely presented.
My favourite part: I put the completed letter into the pigeon hole of the teacher. I don’t explain what it is. So the teachers get a French reading activity to do as well!

I’m hoping to have a bit of cake and a chat. I thought we could sit in small groups, I’ll put a set of cards for each group in an envelope, it will start a discussion. My form are year 12 if that helps.
No et Moi model essay
It’s question 10.1 from November 2021 paper
I wrote the essay myself to share with my students / follow up some recent mock exams we have done.
I’ll use some textivate exercises to play with it and do some translation on it too.
I have taken photos of the essay plans I wrote, I’ll look at that with my students first so they can see how I got to the essay.
My year 11 love Bigflo et Oli since we did the song Plus Tard and often ask for it.

First sheet is a gapfill
Second sheet is a translation with some words in bold - the idea is the students ocmpare the two versions and underline the same words on the French version
Spot the difference sheet, basic paragraphs about family (brothers, sisters, a little extra detail). Students pick out basic info then use it as a model to write their own

I am covering the Spanish topic of technology with year 9 Foundation Spanish group. These are the resources I have made to support the topic.

I started using a commercial resource to teach No et Moi but it was taking too long to get through the book so recently I have made some worksheets to go with each chapter, a summary in English and specific work on a paragraph or two, sometimes a link to a textivate, sometimes some questions I do as a sort of running comprehension, sometimes translation or summary to help with paper 1.
Anyway they may be useful to someone else who is having to hurry up a bit. Enjoy
