Science Teacher and Marathon Runner! I graduated top of my class from the University of Limerick (BSc with concurrent teacher education) in 2015 and having taught in the Irish and UK system I have a in depth appreciation for curriculum. I currently teach Biology and Chemistry at A-Level and GCSE science in London. I am passionate about science and thoroughly enjoy creating resources, please feel free to review my resources.

AQA Combined science and GCSE Biology.
1 lesson outlinng the series of steps involved in a reflex action. Contains worked examples, worksheet and solutions.
Complete lesson as per Chemical Changes in AQA GCSE chemistry and combined science. The lesson revisits metals, metallic bonding and ionic bonding.
Please feel free to adapt.
This lesson allows the students to see that ALL electrophilic substitution reactions of benzene progress by the same mechanism: 1 - formation of the electrophile in situ; 2 - attack of the electrophile on the ring; 3 - reformation of the catalyst.
6.1.1 (d) The electrophilic substitution of aromatic compounds with:
(i) concentrated nitric acid in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid
(ii) a halogen in the presence of a halogen carrier
This lesson looks at how scientific knowledge develops over time as more evidence becomes available. It is also a chance to review the shapes of atomic orbitals as it builds on knowledge of side-on overlap of the p-orbitals to form the delocalised pi ring of electrons.
Students meet the arenes in year 12, but only in passing, so they will have little idea as to the molecular and structural formula of benzene.
A complete set of lessons and activities for higher combined science electrolysis.
The process of electrolysis
Electrolysis of molten ionic compounds
Using electrolysis to extract metals
Electrolysis of aqueous solutions
Required Practical: What happens when aqueous solutions are electrolysed using inert electrodes
Representation of reactions at electrodes as half equations (HT only)
Feel free to adapt slides to suit your lessons, let me know how you get on with teaching electrolysis.
Complete lesson and worksheets for electrolysis required practical. Can be adapted to cater for higher or foundation level. Solutions can be found on the resource (Half equations and electrolysis of aqueous solutions).
Chemical Changes as per AQA combined science and GCSE chemistry.
Complete lesson and resources for the teaching of electrolysis in terms of rules for predicting what products will be formed in the presence of water. Worked examples of how to demonstrate oxidiation and reduction using half equations.
