This unit encourages children to learn why breakfast is an important part of their diet. They learn that different breakfast foods provide different nutrients and why some breakfast foods are healthier than others. They learn how to look at food labels on commercial packages in order to make comparisons. Planning included!
To introduce the topic, you will need general food clipart, food groups and nutrients labels, and healthy diet nutrients poster (based on the Eat Well Guide) not included with this set.

The Three Little Pigs / Science / Materials
This unit can be used alongside the story of The Three Little Pigs. It provides opportunities for the children to use science to investigate the materials product are made of and link it to their storytelling.
Planning included! Through this small unit, children learn about the materials used in the story of The Three Little Pigs, found out where straw, wood and bricks (clay) come from, how they are used as building materials and their properties.,as well as describe and compare every day objects made of the same materials, and carry out 2 science experiments.

• Planning - for 5 lessons.

Pirate themed worksheets for planning and writing own pirate story.
The set includes:
• Story Plan - write a brief sequence of events for a story (beginning, middle, end)
• Story Structure – explain: characters (who is in the story?), settings (where and when did the story happen?), problem (what happens?), and solution (how is the problem solved?)

Use this pirate’ facts and quiz set as a fun way to quickly teach about pirates of the Caribbean islands.
Once displayed on wide screen, go through the whole PDF document by reading first a Fact page followed by a Quiz page - children then record their answers on the printed Quiz sheets. A great whole class teaching activity or group activity – children use labels and pictures to sort animals into vertebrates and invertebrates, mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians and insects, and match key features while cooperatively making decisions and discussing the different possibilities. Also includes animals which belong to ‘other’ classification groups!
