The final lesson in the series for the topic of Coasts, and its yours for FREE. Ideal for Years 7 to 9. Previously taught by myself in a 1hr lesson, but can be adapted to fill 2 hours. This lesson looks at the coastal erosion case study of the Holderness Coast in the North East of England, the fastest eroding coastline in Europe. One of my favourite lessons to teach and very much pupil led during the main activity. Hope you enjoy!

A lesson for the topic of Africa which is completely FREE. Ideal for Years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 1hr lesson. This lesson is an excellent follow up to the 'Opportunities in Lagos' lesson, but can also be taught separately on its own. Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria. Pupils will complete a starter worksheet based on the video in the presentation, before completing activities based around statistics in Makoko (squatter settlement) and then writing a persuasive letter to either save or demolish Makoko (using a help sheet).
As end of term assessment for the topic of Coasts and completely FREE. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously completed within a 1hr lesson with revision time at the start, but can easily be completed in lessons with less time available. Based around my Coasts scheme of work, but can be adapted to suit you. Includes mark scheme.
A practical and fun lesson for the topic of Natural Hazards, perfect for end of term! Ideal for Years 7 to 9. Previously taught by myself in a 1hr lesson. This is a 4 slide presentation to ease the flow of the practical. Be prepared for mess, use A3 sheets on tables to avoid the marshmallows sticking to them. The materials needed for this lesson are listed on the presentation (the cover image for this package). This lesson is always a winner with KS3 students. Groups of 4 work best, give time to plan before the practical exercise.
A set of 14 Top Trumps cards of the independent countries in Oceania. Completely FREE and effectively a sample of what is within the other Top Trump sets. Ideal for KS3 Geography. The numbers on the cards are for each country's population (2017), population density, area (km squared), net migration and life expectancy.
A lesson for the topic of Deserts. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 1hr lesson. Completely FREE. The lesson begins with a spelling test (from the homework in the Desertification lesson) before the pupils embark on filling in their information sheets from the information that is presented on the board. A level of teacher-led questioning is essential for this to be effective. The final activity see's the pupils write an Antarctic explorer diary entry, using their completed information sheets for guidance. Writing frame included on the presentation to help with this. This lesson works excellently as a 3-part series with 'Tourism in Antarctica' and 'The Antarctic Treaty'. Hope you enjoy the lesson and it is useful!
A lesson for the topic of Development. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 1hr lesson. Completely FREE and built around the AQA 1-9 GCSE. The lesson begins with a flags quiz, before a link is made to the choice of the flags involved (you could obviously choose many more when you see the link). The main activities of the lesson firstly involve the pupils correctly ordering the five stages of a microloan, before the pupils write a three paragraph unbiased speech about microloans. Writing frame is included on the activity slide. Activity slide can be printed to help lower ability, higher ability can stretch themselves beyond three paragraphs if they wish to do so.
A quiz for the topic of Africa. Ideal for Years 7 to 9. Previously used for around 20 minutes in a 1hr lesson. Completely FREE. This quiz recaps the learning from the first five lessons of the series:
1. Where is Africa?
2. Perceptions of Africa.
3. The Colonisation of Africa.
4. Population densities of Africa.
5. Physical feature of Africa.
The final couple of questions are about biomes. If you have studied biomes then you can keep the questions in, if not then remove them and make the quiz out of 20/21 rather than 25.
Use however you wish and enjoy!
An end of term assessment for the topic of Settlements. Ideal for Years 7 to 9. Previously taught by myself in a 1hr lesson where pupils have had time to revise beforehand and sat the assessment in around 30-40 minutes. Based on the KS3 Settlement resources on my page.
A lesson for the topic of Development. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 1hr lesson. Not the best lesson I've ever made and does not reflect the other development lessons I have made, but its yours for FREE regardless. The 'Birkenhead or not?' game can be adapted for any location and gets the pupils engaged. Best part of the lesson is the 'only connect' game that is based on my previous lessons, adapt that game for literally anything I guarantee it will get the pupils engaged! Hope you enjoy!
A lesson for the topic of Settlements. Ideal for Years 7 to 9. Previously taught by myself in a 1hr lesson. This lesson is ideal for the end of a scheme of work for Settlements if you have a lesson spare. Lesson includes a hot seat activity based on my previous lessons for the scheme of work of Settlements which KS3 pupils tend to enjoy.
A lesson for the topic of Tourism. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 1hr lesson but could be extended to cover a double lesson if all resources are used with younger KS3 pupils. Completely FREE. This lesson is challenging if taught to younger pupils in KS3, but great for challenging higher ability classes especially. You may not need to use all of the activities in the presentation in a 1hr time frame. Hope its helpful, enjoy!
A lesson for the topic of Tourism. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 1hr lesson. Completely FREE. This lesson leads on from the first few lessons in the bundle and is predominantly an extended writing task where pupils consider the butler life cycle model, positives, negatives and strategies to improve Blackpool (previous lessons learning for much of the information). Could potentially be adapted to any lessons about Blackpool that have otherwise been taught outside the bundle. Not many slides but I hope it helps, enjoy!
A double-lesson activity for the topic of Rivers. Ideal for years 7 to 9. Previously taught in a 2hr double lesson. Completely FREE. A good activity for spare lessons when teaching the topic of Rivers.
