A fantastic eye-catching maths display to show the rules and methods for TRIGONOMETRY. Really stands out on the wall and has proved really useful for my classes as they are getting to grips with the basics of trigonometry.
Included is:
Title
All lettering for the right-angled triangle rules
A right-angled triangle with labels (I printed the triangle on A3)
SOHCAHTOA formula triangles
Sine/Cosine rule
An eye-catching maths display on PRIME FACTOR TREES including Venn Diagram method for HCF and LCM.
All numbers and speech bubbles to show how to use prime factor decomposition to find the HCF and LCM using a Venn diagram.
For the cover picture, a cut my own letters out of card but I have included some printable ones to make a complete resource. I have used little cartoon heads to show the descriptions but they could be put up without speech bubbles as just descriptions.
I printed the Venn diagram out A3 to make it stand out more and for the lines joining the prime factor tree I just cut strips of yellow and blue paper.
Enjoy!

Rationalise the denominator of a simple fraction
Rationalise the denominator of a harder fraction
Answer to the extension q:
Using Pythagoras: a^2 + b^2 = c^2
(√3)^2 + (2+√5)^2
3 + (2+√5)(2+√5)
3 + 4 + 4√5 + 5
12 + 4√5
Then:
(√2 + √10)^2
(√2 + √10)(√2 + √10)
2 + 2√20 + 10
12 + 2√20 (2√20 = 2 x √4 x √5 = 2 x 2 x √5 = 4√5)
12 + 4√5
So it is a right angled triangle.

A great activity to engage students and build both their mathematical ability and confidence, based on Kagan cooperative learning.
Students have a card each and move around the room asking the question on their card to other students. The answer is also printed on their card so they can see if their partner has the right answer. If needed, they can use their understanding to coach their partner towards the right answer. Once both students have asked their question they trade cards and move on so each student has a variety of questions that they are asking to others.
This activity involves finding factors that forms the basis of factorising a quadratic expression. Or just for general factorising practice.
Useful 2-page end of topic summary test + answers. Complete with marking grid (duplicated for A5 printing) to give students easy to read feedback, tips for improvement and extension work.

Extension answer below.
In this test:
Find missing angles on a straight line
Find missing angles on opposite angles
Find missing angles in a triangle
Find missing angles on parallel lines
Find exterior angles of regular polygons
Find interior angles of regular polygons
Find the sum of the interior angles
Identify and name 3D solids
Identify quadrilaterals by their properties
Lots of other topics and levels available.
EXTENSION ANSWER:
x = (360/6) + (360/8)
x = 60 + 45
x = 105 degrees
Full resources for an eye-catching and informative maths display based on MEAN MEDIAN MODE & RANGE.
I've used the Beatles to get the info across (for no other reason apart from I like the Beatles!) but the resources can be easily amended so any characters could easily be used. I haven't included the pictures shown the photo for copyright purposes (I wasn't sure where the cartoon images came from) but they can be easily printed from google images.
