This is an easy ensemble piece that has some interesting parts for more advanced players, but lots of simple parts for beginner musicians. All parts are doubled up to accommodate instruments in concert, B flat & E flat. This arrangement is simple, but very effective. It lasts for circa 3 minutes. You will be provided with a PDF file of the conductor score and all parts, as well as instrument parts. The Sibelius file is also provided for easy editing.

The booklet includes a target and review section, short & long term target section, strengths & areas for development and an 8 week review diary, which is easily laid out for students to complete. I have used this since the introduction of the first award and this has allowed my students to easily and efficiently collect distinctions, with only visual evidence needed to accompany the completed booklet.

This booklet has enough resources to cover a full half term (or longer) of Reggae. There are enough tasks to cover homework, classroom activities, SMSC knowledge and much more. The overall project is the Bob Marley song Three Little Birds, which can be performed by an ensemble. The main parts are the lyrics, bass line, chorus hook and chords. There are two files - the word document, which can be edited to suit your own school's layouts and a PDF showing the original layout designed for my old school to give you an idea. The original file was designed on a mac so some images on the word document may have moved around a bit. Referring to the PDF will allow you to easily correct any such errors.

Music Venues - BTEC First Award Music/GCSE AQA Performing Arts - Industry Information: ROCK CITY

(0)
Recently my GCSE AQA Performing Arts students visited the Nottingham-based venue Rock City. They did this in order to learn information that is vital for their Unit 1 coursework. Whilst there we conducted interviews and learnt about the history of the venue. To collate information, I have since put together all of the interviews and information that can be used for their coursework which provides enough detail and variation for students to gain top-end marks. This resource is also perfect for BTEC courses, such as revision for the Unit 1 exam or for industry-based research to compliment coursework. My school is the only one to have ever visited Rock City on a private tour so the information gained is not available on Wikipedia or other music job-based websites. This resource is invaluable for students to gain additional industry-based context.
