I am currently a Spanish teacher and I was tired of looking for effective, straightforward teaching resources for my Spanish students so I decided to make them myself! Prior to teaching, I was professionally trained in curriculum design & development. Today, my materials and approach to teaching Spanish are used by Spanish teachers all across the country! I am new to TES but wanted to explore another avenue for sharing my teaching resources with as many people as possible! Happy teaching!

Teach your students the names of food in Spanish using this fun activity with minimal prep! This activity works for all grade levels. For younger students, focus on coloring, cutting, gluing and practicing the food vocabulary. For older students, have them skip coloring and cutting and just draw their favorite foods and then have them focus on the verbal presentation. Super versatile and lots of fun.
Use the first page as a visual aid to review the names of food with your students.
Print out the following pages so that you have enough for each student. (Note: Food sheets are designed for cutting in half to save on paper.)
Have students decide which meal they are going to choose:
El Desayuno (breakfast)
El Almuerzo (lunch)
La Cena (dinner)
*Then, have students color and cut out their favorite foods and paste them onto the place setting. Encourage students to label food names in Spanish. Include the names of each part of the place setting for an extra challenge, la servilleta, el tenedor, el plato, el cuchillo, la cuchara).
Finally, have students present their favorite meals to the rest of the class in Spanish!
“Para el desayuno, mi comida favorita es…”
“Para la cena, me gusta comer…”
“ Etc.
