A PDF detailing the criteria for each certification level in Accelerated Reader. Designed to be engaging and simple to understand, so that both children and teachers can understand what is required to reach the next level!
Great for classroom or library display.

Accelerated Reader GUIDE
A summarised guide for all things AR, including first-hand experience of setting up the programme within a school.

Reader of the Week - bookmark award
A template for bookmarks awarding ‘Reader of the Week’ for children who have demonstrated exceptional reading skills (i.e. someone who perseveres even if they find reading tough, or who has a genuine love for reading!)
These four designs can be edited and easily photocopied onto card for hand out.
The Alphabet Rap (poster)
A poster of an ‘alphabet rap’ song. Works well in EYFS and is a fresh way to teach the alphabet.
Create the rhythm for the rap by repeatedly slapping knees and clapping hands and saying the words of the rap alongside this.
Ancient Egyptian Artefacts - debate
Resources to form the basis of a debate in the classroom. Collected literature from newspapers on Egyptian Artefacts, which raise points about whether said artefacts should be returned to Egypt or not. The table which accompanies allows children to collect evidence ‘for’ and ‘against’ this, which can lead to a class debate lesson.
Poetry (fill in the blanks)
Taken from Jack Prelutsky’s ‘Spaghetti, Spaghetti’ poem, this worksheet encourages children to fill in the blanks and focus on their own use of vocabulary within poetry. Can be used within a poetry unit or as a more explicit SPaG resource.
Variety of sentence structures - example
A collated list of examples of different sentence structures.
