Double Digit Multiplication- traditional and Partial Products
It’s to a student’s advantage to know how to multiply using the traditional algorithm and the partial products method. The traditional way is great for expediency, the partial products way is great for understanding. This product will give students plenty of opportunities to learn both ways with clear demonstrations (which also could be used for anchor charts), scaffolded activities such as reminder “carrying boxes” and partly done examples with fill-in blanks, and lots of examples for student practice. This is “Set 1”. Set 1 has multiplication with numbers having only these digits: 0,1,2,3,4. The reason for this is (assuming that a purchaser would buy this first before other sets) that teachers will probably use the resource as an introduction to double digit multiplication/ 2 methods and would want the focus to be on the procedures rather than the math facts themselves. Having the easiest numbers to multiply allows the students’ attention to be harnessed in this way.

Best for grades 3-5.
Multiplication Array Cards for Concept, Understanding, and Memorizing Set I
These colorful flashcards illustrate the array format of each multiplication fact from the 2x table (with factors 2-9) to the 5x table (with factors 2-9). Also, by turning each card once to the right, the student can view both array formats for the main multiplication fact and its “turnaround”. There are spaces and blanks to complete on flaps that coordinate with each fact. Using the array as a scaffold, the student can easily fill in “__rows x ___ in each row = ____” written on the flap as well as filling in another space on the flap to write the actual multiplication fact. Another way to do this would be to have the student say what completes each blank/space rather than writing the information in them. The student who becomes more confident with these facts can be quizzed on the facts with the flashcard flaps turned down, the answers hidden.
Multiplication Array Cards for Concept, Understanding,& Memorizing Set II
These colorful flashcards illustrate in array format each multiplication fact from the 6x table (with factors 2-9) to the 9x table (with factors 2-9). Also, by turning each card once to the right, the student can view both array formats for the main multiplication fact and its “turnaround”. There are spaces and blanks to fill out on the flaps that coordinate with each fact. Using the array as a scaffold, the student can easily fill in " ___ rows x __ in each row = " written on the flap as well as filling in another space on the flap to write the actual multiplication fact. The student who becomes confident with these facts can be quizzed on the facts with the flashcard flaps turned down, the answers hidden.
Measure & Make Lightup Valentine Tabletop Decor
Here is a hand-made Valentine gift that can be created for the entire family. This gift is a functional table-top decoration that lights up. Set the stage for warmth and pleasant family dinner conversation with this centerpiece decoration giving off a soft candle-like glow. (the “older” school kids-grades 3-6- prefer this type of valentine activity because it isn’t too “mushy-gushy” and it doesn’t target a “sweetheart”)
The “lighted tubes” of the heart are actually re-purposed plastic or paper drinking straws. Here’s a use for those plastic straws that you don’t want to end up in the ocean!
The complete instructions are provided in this resource. This project is part construction, math(a lot of measurement), language arts, science, and a whole lot of fun.
Use as independent activity in centers, small groups, whole class.
Teachers: this works well in a STEAM center! Parents, After School Programs, Scouts, Youth Groups, etc.: great project for your organizations!
