Attached are the standardised grade boundaries I use within my department. They are based on 2019 but with a 1% cushion built in where I think appropriate in case of increases in 2024. This powerpoint was designed around Examiner Reports for Edexcel. It uses the extracts from the Examiner comments with tips and guidance on how to approach the different exam questions for Edexcel Paper 3A in Politics ALevel- USA Comparative. This lesson examines the Amendment process in the US constitution and the pros and cons of it for a debate. Updated with modern examples e.g. a detailed case study showing the evolution of abortion rights issue in USA which can be used to address and discuss the flaws with the blend of vague and specific language. Also includes a colour code of key debates and a detailed case study on the issue of abortion rights and how it has changed since Roe v Wade to illustrate some of the challenges of having a “living” constitution vs Originalism and the blend of specificity and vagueness.

A brief intro to some very basic Historical skills for a first Y7 lesson. This case study is a 2 page word document which includes infographics and maps as well as detail of several key Supreme Court decisions regarding abortion since 1973 landmark Roe v Wade decision. EG Casey v Planned Parenthood and of course Dobbs v Jackson. It is a standalone but fully editable word doc resource. PNG images are for visual purposes only. I use this as part of my unit on the US constitution and evaluating how effectively it protects rights and also by unit on the Supreme Court as part of evaluation of Court as policy makers, Judicial Activism and ideological balance of the court.

OCR Alevel Tudors Rebellion and Disorder/ Tudor Rebellions This is a lesson on Perkin Warbeck’s rebellion I teach this AFTER the Cornish rebellion even though it technically begins before- this is to group the economic rebs and have them bookended by Dynastic threats and also to show the response to the rebellion when Warbeck lands in Cornwall in Sept and ensure students do not muddle that with the Cornish rebellion of 1497 (early summer) Can be used for any Tudor Rebellions/ Tudors ALevel Very detailed and in depth- all themes covered.

OCR Tudor Rebellions ALevel Can be used for any spec and for an Alevel course on the Tudors/ Wars of the Roses- Henry VII government and foreign policy This is a detailed and comprehensive lesson which is fully resourced on the Cornish rebellion of 1497 Includes all resources, a detailed powerpoint and several activities as well as a retrieval quiz on the previous rebellions (I teach Warbeck after Cornish) I hope it is useful for you! OCR Tudor Rebellions ALevel (can be used for other specs) This lesson is a detailed study of the Simnel rebellion 1487 It includes all resources needed- for any references to the textbook- all info is actually typed up onto the slides- the references are only if you wish to set independent study using the Mervyn Tudor Rebellions textbook (SHP Hodder) This is not necessary- the powerpoint can be used as a guided resource or slides/ info can be printed for students to work independently. Many of the slides require the animations to reveal the info beneath. Covers all the aspects needed for the Rebellions against Tudors Breadth study/ Thematic for the Lambert Simnel rebellion 1487 vs Henry VII.

Edexcel; ALevel Politics This is a detailed planning grid for answering 12 mark COMPARATIVE THEORY questions. The questions are all either past paper questions or constructed from the spec. Some are filled in fully, some partly and some blank for students to plan. Includes many potential/ past questions to prepare students for a range of elements from the spec. There are 7 pages of questions here and it took a long time to make so hopefully it is useful! Edexcel Politics ALevel (Can also be used for AQA) This is a batch of revision end of topic checklists AND glossary/ key word sheets for all topics: Constitution Congress Presidency/ Executive Supreme Court and Civil Rights Democracy and Elections including Political Parties I have created some topic checklists for each topic from the spec with key bullet points for students to traffic light their confidence including key words at the bottom. For US Presidency and Supreme Court/ Civil Rights I have also included key case studies as I know students struggle with these. Included all key legislative achievements for Presidents from Clinton up to Biden (correct as of June 2023) Also includes useful tables e.g. how many exec orders each POTUS has, vetoes used, signing statements used etc. Included all key Court Cases which created policy for SCOTUS and key cases relating to the bill of rights.
