I offer materials for GCSE & A Level Computing, OCR Creative iMedia Level 2 and OCR Cambridge Technicals Level 3. This retrieval grid generator allows you to instantly generate three-by-three grids of random revision questions at the touch of a button. Each grid pulls questions randomly from a bank of over 170 questions, covering topics in both units (1 & 2) from OCR’s 277 GCSE Computing spec. You can create grids based on: Unit 1 - Computer systems Unit 2 - Computational thinking, algorithms and programming Unit 1 & 2 An answer grid is also generated with each set of questions, and a blank answer grid can also be printed. The spreadsheet file is set up for easy printing. When used in lessons on a regular basis, Retrieval Practice is an excellent way of boosting student learning and helping students transfer knowledge to long term memory. This retrieval grid generator makes it simple to create retrieval practice resources in seconds, so that students can embed their learning on a regular basis and not just in the run-up to tests/exams.

The main resource includes: • 10 question grids (3 x 3) • 10 answer grids • A student answer sheet Plus also included is **template which can be used to create additional grids The retrieval grids can be used with an optional “points” system. Questions are worth 1 – 3 points each. It was written with ICT and Computing in mind, but can easily be tweaked to use for other subjects (I have included an editable file along with the PDF) It has been produced with dual coding in mind The guide does not cover subject content, but is about study techniques to support learners throughout their studies, Many of the topics apply to all subjects. The guide includes sections on: Note-taking (why we take notes, the Cornell method, Outlining, Mind-mapping) Revision (How the brain works, spacing, interleaving, retrieval practice) Productivity (Getting Things Done and Pomodoro) Wellbeing (Diet, the importance of sleep, hydration, mindfulness, and digital wellbeing)
