Knowing Divisibility Rules gives students an advantage! This pack includes Individual Divisibility Rules Fold-Ups (2 per sheet--just cut apart on grey line and present one at a time). Once printed and assembled you will have 10 individual divisibility rule fold-up for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12. The inside of all of these fold-up could be enlarged and used as a poster for your classroom. To learn how to make a poster be sure to visit Mrs. B's Best Blog Also included are two fold-ups that summarize five divisibility rules each. These fold-ups would work if rules have already been taught and the student just needs a resource to refer to. I have also included ten 18 question worksheets to accompany each divisibility rule. An answer key is also provided. As always, when printing be sure to run a test copy to make sure the fold-ups fold up properly. Want to see pictures of the product? Stop by Mrs. B's Best Blog.

Give students the review they need to master the skill! If there is one thing I have learned since I began teaching math to 5th graders 10 years ago, it is that students must practice a skill repeatedly. Just because a student is able to change an improper fraction to a mixed number for the chapter test, does not mean they will remember the skill a month later. In fact, I found this to be so true, I found it necessary to create an additional set of, RED-Fractions. So, this packet contains an additional 28 quick half-sheet reviews focused on fractions. Note that while the format is identical to the first set, the problems are different. This Review Every Day includes the following fraction skills: Reducing fractions to lowest terms, comparing fractions, ordering fractions, writing equivalent fractions, finding the least common demoninator, adding & subtracting fractions with alike and unlike denominators, multiplying and dividing fractions with a whole number, multiplying and dividing two fractions, multiplying and dividing mixed numbers, changing improper fractions to mixed numbers and changing mixed numbers to improper fractions. Please note that this packet does NOT teach the skill, but only serves to review the skill after you have taught it to the students. Each review has anywhere from 8 to 12 questions. The skill sequence is in increasing difficulty. So, if you already have the first set of RED Fractions, I would suggest you do number 1 from set 1, then do number one from set 2. And continue that way through both sets. Each review is a half-sheet. Lesson 1 and Lesson 3 are on page 1. Lesson 2 and Lesson 4 are on page 2. I do this intentionally. If you run page 1 on the front and page 2 on the back and then cut the sheet in half, you will have Fractions 1 on the front and Fractions 2 on the back. The entire document is set up this way. This saves paper, and allows the teacher to teach the lessons in order and in a more efficient way. However, if you have both sets, then I would recommend running set 1 on front and set 2 of the corresponding numbers on back. At the back of the packet you will find the answer key which provides the answers to all questions.

Give students the review they need to master the skill! If there is one thing I have learned since I began teaching math to 5th graders 10 years ago, it is that students must practice a skill repeatedly. Just because a student is able to find the median of a number set, does not mean they will remember the skill a month later. With this in mind, each day I set aside a portion of time to practice previously taught skills. From this practice, R.E.D., Review Every Day, was born. This packet contains 28 quick review half sheets focused on statistics. All statistics skills are practiced: Minimum value, maximum value, median, range, mode and mean. Most reviews have 12 questions. Beginning with Review 14, every other lesson requires students to gather data from a graph or table. Students are required to use the data gathered to calculate various statistics. Please note that this packet does NOT teach the skill, but only serves to review the skill after you have taught it to the students. Each review has anywhere from 8 to 12 questions. In my classroom I spread the 28 lessons out and usually do not use them one day after another. I have other RED lessons that I would mix and match. So, for instance, Monday might be Fractions 1 and Tuesday might be Decimals 1. By Friday, I may be ready to use Fractions 2. Polka Dot - Not Your Mom's Calendar Kit - 7 Complete Sets and More

So, this past school year, my daughter was helping me change the calendar in my classroom. We weren’t far into the process when she announced that my calendar was looking pretty shabby and that I really ought to consider getting a new one. Wow, really... Now even though I still maintain my 20+ year old calendar kit looked pretty good, I decided to take her advice and create a new kit. And thus, “Not Your Mom’s” Calendar Kit was born. This kit contains 7 complete polka dot sets in the following colors: Tangerine, Lime, Lemon, Red, Sky Blue, Hot Pink and Black. Having seven different colors allows you to mix and match! Want a lime and tangerine calendar? You can do that! Each set contains: Calendar number cards 1 - 31, 12 month cards and 7 day of week cards. Note: This set does not contain the background sheet to which the cards are attached. I just recycled my old one, but you can easily make one using poster board. I would recommend running the number cards and month cards on white card stock and laminating, so you can make it last 20+ years! Also included are all 12 months written in bubble letters. I personally use these letters (not the polka dot month cards) to label the month. I purchased several 8.5 x 11 pattern paper packs. (Available at Walmart in scrapbooking section.) Choose a coordinating texture/color to compliment the number cards and run the pattern pack paper through your printer. When you are finished you’ll have colorful letters to cut out and use for your calendar. And...even better...you won’t use any colored ink!

The following Algebraic Thinking skills are covered: Powers of Ten & Exponents, Properties of Math, Grouping Symbols, Order of Operations, and Numerical Expressions. Each review has anywhere from 8 to 16 questions and progresses from the easiest to the more difficult skills. Black, White and Lime Polka Dot Genre and AR Classroom Library Kit-Now Editable

Brighten your classroom library! This product has everything you need to organize your classroom library by AR Book Level or the following 10 genres: Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, Traditional Literature, Informational, Biography, Autobiography and Poetry. This set now includes blank labels that can be customized. These pages open as Power Point slides. Simply insert a text box and type any text you choose. All Materials were created using a Black and White Polka Dot with Lime Accents Theme. This set includes: •Genre Posters: One poster for each genre. Each poster contains a definition and several titles from the genre. •Genre Labels: One set of 4.25”x 3.5” genre labels for book tubs or bookshelves. •Book Label Code Sheet Poster: One poster that serves as the ‘key’ for the book spine labels. •Book Spine Labels: One sheet of sixty book spine labels for each genre. These labels work with Avery Return Address Labels (60 per page). Spine labels are available in black or green. •AR Book Level Labels: One set of 4.25”x 3.5” AR labels for book tubs or bookshelves. •Blank editable Large Poster (Power Point) •Blank page with 6 small editable labels (Power Point) •2 dpi 300 png images of Large Poster and small labels. Personally, I prefer to leave the posters a standard 8.5 x 11 size. My thinking is that I don't need someone to be able to read them from across the room. Instead I want them to be a resource students can use when browsing the library. Therefore, a standard size is perfect. The posters, however, can be enlarged. For directions how to make posters using your printer, read my blog post on the topic.

Get Organized! 8th Grade Common Core ELA Binder Organizer & Tracker

(1)
Organize all your ELA materials by Common Core Standard! When I first began teaching in 1989, a wonderful teacher gave me a binder filled with teaching materials. All the materials were organized by objectives--we didn’t call them standards or indicators back then. That binder was my life-line. Enter Common Core. While much of the content of my binder was still relevant, it needed to be reorganized. Some things did have to go and new things were added. Some of the objectives, now called standards, were looking a little thin. But with my binder, it was easy to see the gaps that still need to be filled. This product doesn’t have actual lessons, but it does provide you with everything you need to get organizing by make your own common core binder! Every 8th grade English Language Arts Standard has it’s own sheet (both a color and black and white version), a master list of all standards for tracking dates taught, ready made index tabs for every standard/indicator, binder spines (both color and black and white) and a Quick Note/evaluation sheet for recording additional resources (websites, smart-board lessons, videos, etc.) and the effectiveness of the lesson. I personally opted to do 4 binders (literature, informational text, writing and language). I included foundational skills with the literature binder and speaking and listening with writing. I printed the main covers in color, but the individual standards on coordinating colored paper. You could laminate the divider pages, but I opted to slip each into a protective sleeve. The possibilities of how to set your binder up are virtually endless. To see how I set mine up, be sure to which contains pictures showing the final product. visit my blog post which contains pictures showing the final product.
