Being transparent with students on the standard of assessment and grades is a great way to implement high expectations as well as set them up to be successful. This rubric includes four major components of oral fluency in any regard, whether it be an oral presentation, reading, group work or any other context. These components include expression and volume, phrasing, smoothness, and pace. Each component includes a possibility of four points totaling 16 points total. That number can then be multiplied by 6.25 to place it out of 100. This is a great way to hold your students accountable and document assessment to allow for reflection and improvement and a skill that is highly necessary and often neglected.

Check out this awesome tracking form that transfers the accountability and ownership over grades to the student. Check out this simple and student-friendly rubric which is meant to be used to evaluate student Social Studies journals. The rubric is broken into four categories, of which students can score between a 1 and a 4. Each score for each section includes explicit description of what you need to obtain that score. A guide on the bottom shows how to calculate up to a percentage grade. This is meant to be provided to the students, so they know what is expected of them with the journals, and then used to grade at the end of the quarter, or semester, or year. Quantifying the results of science fair or stem fair is always difficult since there are so many pieces that go into it. Check out this four part rubric that allows for 1-4 points for each section. Students can score a total of 16 points which can then be multiple by 6.25 to be out of 100. This rubric is broken into the following sections: Display, Demonstration/Presentation, Scientific Thought, and Skill. Each domain has a clear explanation of the expectations for each of the four points that are possible.
