An essay scaffolding tool to aid students in writing an essay on a particular extract from a text, particularly focusing on aspects of narrative.

An adaptable Progress Measure that allows students to self-assess or peer-assess their work using set criteria for specific levels. Students can independently work through the set questions and climb the ladders by achieving each of the set criteria, but lose points when hit by a "Literacy Barrel" (e.g. spelling errors). Students are then able be scored and can compete with each other to enhance engagement as well as learning.
