GCSE Physics - Circuit calculations - Series and parallel circuits

(0)
A structured worksheet for students to work through with a variety of problems relating to series and parallel circuits. This encourages them to think about the rules and state them along with descriptions of observations and explanations of what is happening. There are calculations of current, resistance and voltage in a variety of circuits. Included are the answers...

GCSE Physics - Specific Latent Heat of Fusion and Vaporisation Practical Worksheet

(0)
A practical worksheet detailing a suitable practical for calculating the Specific Latent Heat of Fusion for ice and the Specific Latent Heat of Vaporisation for water. Included are results tables for the students to complete and circuit diagrams for setting up. The voltmeter/ammeter combination can be replaced by a joulemeter if you have sufficient joulemeters for class practicals. This practical is suitable for AQA GCSE Physics and GCSE Combined Science Triolgy Please see my shop bit.ly/TESncrumpton for further resources on Specific Latent Heat and other physics related topics. Thanks

GCSE Physics - Required Practical 4c Diode

(0)
I have reworked the required practical from AQA as using cells did not provide sufficient variability or control for collecting data on a diode. This practical sheet provides detailed instructions of how to set up the circuit and gather the data including how to do this using LEDs instead of a diode.
GCSE Physics - Density calculations

GCSE Physics - Density calculations

(0)
A differentiated worksheet for practicing density calculations. It starts off with using the formula in its standard form then progresses to rearranging the formula. All data is real data. This is designed for the new GCSE in Physics. Also included in the download are the worked answers!
GCSE Physics - Particle model and density lesson plan and presentation

GCSE Physics - Particle model and density lesson plan and presentation

(0)
A detailed lesson plan and PPT presentation to introduce particle models and density to GCSE Physics students. There are a sequence of demos detailed in here for looking at conservation of mass and changes of state and density along with a worksheet of calculations for students to complete to practice using the density equation. Answers included! Please remember to review. Thanks.

GCSE Physics - Knowledge Organiser - Electricity and The National Grid

(0)
The first in a series of knowledge organisers for the new AQA GCSE Phsyics syllabus. This covers the content for half of the electricity topic. Topics covered are circuit symbols, the National Grid, 3-core cable, Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC), Power, energy and the relevant formulae and units. Related worksheets are available on my store GradeGain
Flash Cards for all the Common Quantities and Units

Flash Cards for all the Common Quantities and Units

(0)
These flash cards are great when printed out double sided and then laminated. Can be used in multiple ways - as flash cards to test the whole class, as small cards for pupils to play pelmanism (memory) with. Printed single sided they can be used as a card sort activity. Covers all the common GCSE units for Physics.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

Electromagnetic Spectrum Card sort

(0)
This is a fun activity to help students learn the order of the electromagnetic spectrum. I print out the colour sheets and laminate them so students can hold them up, then get them to arrange themselves into the right order. They need to look for the visual clues to help them e.g. colours and wavelength on the background. This could be printed out in a smaller version e.g. 2 slides to a page and students can then do this in pairs or small groups. Great as an introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum but also good a s a revision activity.
Physics Additional Keyword Spelling Sheet

Physics Taboo 3

(0)
Taboo game cards covering the main Physics topics: Lenses, Motor Effect, Pressure, Centripetal force, Moments Students play in teams of two. One person picks up a card and has to describe the phrase in the top box without using any of the words on the card. Their team mate has to guess it to win. The opposing two members of the four can jump in and steal the card by guessing correctly.
