Andrew Forster 'Brothers' and 'Mother Diving' KS3
A mini unit (4 lessons, 3 on content one reading exam) of work using the poems, 'Brothers' and 'Mother Diving' by Andrew Forster. The lessons were aimed at developing independence when tackling unseen poetry. Prior knowledge of basic language devices is assumed. Students are primarily exploring moods and feelings in the poems. These lessons would suit a higher ability year 7 group or mixed ability year 8 group.
