Following the structure, format and wording of the WJEC/EDUQAS literature exam paper, I have created a mock paper using The Manhunt by Simon Armitage for students to practice exam responses. Included in the resource is an essay planning sheet to help students consider their answer and time their writing.

A complete lessson analysing the poem London by WIlliam Blake. A complete analysis of the context, themes, structure and language/imagery used in the poem. A colourful and engaging lesson to prepare students for GCSE. A second, less detailed analysis lesson is included for lower ability sets.
A selection of 25 different, and differentiated homeworks to work around a Key Stage 3 scheme of work based on Robert Swindells Abomination. There is a selection of transactional writing, research tasks and short five minute tasks, as well as some comparative writing and analysis of short animations.
A very useful visual revision aide for students completing the Eduqas/WJEC English GCSE. A thematic grid to outline which poems have the most links, and are therefore more likely to come up on the GCSE paper. Colour coded by theme, easily outlined and a great starting point for revision.
A fun and easily accessible lesson for students studying The Manhunt by Simon Armitage. Designed to be the introduction of the analysis of the poem, as well as the contextual information, this lesson works really well with lower ability students. Resources, Learning Objectives and Success Criteria are all included.
A 95 slide display covering a range of literary features used within English - useful for both analysis of text, poetry, language, media and creative writing. A lot of the slides use Harry Potter, Macbeth and popular films to demonstrate what the feature is, as well as a simple explanation of what each device is. A nice way to decorate your English classroom.

This lesson will encourage students to closely analyse texts and identify language, as well as authors intention and presentation of main themes. A great revision tool as well as a useful assessment for classes. Suitable for all KS4 classes. This sheet was used with a low ability set, but questions are easily altered.

Snakes and Ladders Game template to help students revise for English Literature GCSE. Home made game template and question cards coming with instructions. A fun way for students to revise. All you need to do is print it out and set the students the question task. Students can differentiate learning for themselves. Fun tokens made and included in set to represent the key characters in each text.
A very useful revision resource for students studying the Eduqas or WJEC poetry anthology. Students have the opportunity to compare and contrast 4 poems linked by theme to recall key similarities and differences. An easy to use A3 grid that can then be used as a revision poster. Boxes included for key quotes and contextual information on each poem, as well as space for comparisons in other linked boxes.

An engaging, exciting and fast paced lesson looking at the change in language from Shakespearean to modern. Using Shakespearean insults, students play a dice game to create their own before learning how to translate them. Student study what prefixes and suffixes are and try and explain how language has changed. All learning objectives, success criteria and resources are included and timers are embedded into the powerpoint. Dice are needed for this game. Great to introduce Shakespeare!
