I am an experienced teacher and currently Head of English and Media in a large secondary school. I am also an examiner for EDUQAS English Language GCSE. I have a range of resources available on TES. Some of my resources are quite old, from when I first started out, and I am currently working in my spare time to update my resources. There are a range of resources from displays, schemes of work, revision booklets, mock exam papers and lessons available.

English Literature - Charles Dickens- A Christmas Carol GCSE revision key cards

A set of revision cards that cover the entire play scene by scene with key quotes, key terminology and the major themes. Each slide is cut into 4 pocket sized cards that can be hole punched and put on a key ring to make a set of flip cards helping students with every aspect of the play. The last 4 cards cover the popularity of the play, the context, about the author and the key characters in the play. An incredibly useful revision resource for students needing to 'get to grips' with A Christmas Carol ready for their exams.

Emoji Story Starter Cards for Creative Writing

(0)
A fun way to engage students in creative writing and story telling. This tool can be used for both Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. It is also very accessible for SEN students in lower KS4. Using these cards, students are given a story task. They need to use all six of their emoji's within their story, and can even cut out their stickers to use within their writing. A really fun exercise for students and something that stops the 'writers block' that young people often suffer.

To tackle the lack of enthusiasm about homework in my school I created a menu of homework. This one targets the Eduqaas poetry anthology and gives opportunities to independently research and extend learning. There are 25 homeworks already planned, differentiated by 'spice'. Since using these menus, where the students pick for themselves, the amount and quality of homework has improved.
