The exam assessment style questions and mark schemes I created myself.

AQA A level Sociology Health Topic 1: Key Texts Homework Booklet

This booklet includes 6 key texts, both classic and contemporary, to supplement learning of the foundational knowledge required for the Topic in health: social construction of health, illness and disease; the body; disability. How to use: Set students a reading task each week where they must read and complete the tasks associated. Offer this digitally on Teams or Google Classroom and sign post to ChatPDF to support students who have Dyslexia or other cognitive impairments. Mark using the feedback pages (I took inspiration from another teacher for this) feedback a week later. This means students are reading key texts every fortnight and engaging in consolidating learning. I set no more the 60 min guidelines for students (see image).

Companion for the Basics / introduction to studying A level Sociology

I created this guide over the summer to provide students of A level with the foundational knowledge of sociology. It would benefit new teachers of sociology, parents and carers, students, ITT’s and departments for CPD. Many students start the A level with no prior knowledge of the topic and often say they picked it because ‘it sounded interesting’. Underestimating the depths of the course and the heaviness of the theoretical views. It includes everything you must know before you embark on the topics of the A level specification. I have included activities where possible and written this in the most student friendly way. I was inspired by many authors and writers but have created this book from scratch.

A tool to help educators, ITT’s, new to AQA GCSE Sociology specification teachers, pupils, parents and carers. Use in lessons, for planning, for taster days/open evenings, to help parents and carers understand homework and revision tool. I usually print these as exam booklets A3 folded and stapled to A4 or I upload a digital copy to google classroom.
